🎣Super excited to reel in a new activity for Operation Get Out — the upcoming Get Hooked Fishing Weekend, benefitting first responders, nurses, and military. 🪝🐟

Whether it’s the first cast or the hundredth, this weekend offers a unique opportunity with a tournament format and a pro angler and boat designated for each participant. But it’s about more than the catch — it’s about community, calm, and connection on the water. 💦

Participants are in for a fully sponsored weekend including accommodations, Saturday’s fishing tournament, gear, food, lakeside live music, and a BBQ celebration.

We are back on the lake and ready to welcome our first responders, military, nurses, and frontline heroes along with their plus-ones for a weekend of rest, reconnection, and nature-powered wellness at Canyon Lake.

Operation Get Out and its signature event, the Get Out Girl Surf & Paddle Jam, were created with a simple but powerful mission: To harness the healing power of nature & water for positive mental wellness impact, to our Women First Responders, Military, Nurses, and Frontline Workers who give so much of themselves in service to others… even to their End of Watch 🪽💙🌊 This year we especially honor the 10-year anniversary of STAR Flight Nurse Kristen McLain’s End of Watch, and we continue to carry forward the legacy of Senior Deputy Jessica Hollis. Their courage and service remain at the heart of why we gather.

This community of friends & supporters showed up with heart! 💖 Your participation fuels our mission, builds connection, and ensures that we can continue to create restorative experiences that honor and support those who serve, protect, and heal.🌱

From our volunteers who lifted boards to the families & friends who came out in support… you are ALL part of this movement. Thank You. 🙏 Together, we’re proving that time in nature isn’t just fun, it’s life changing.

What an incredible day at the 2025 Get Out Girl Surf Jam! Over 100 women and 18 boats came together to inspire, encourage, and celebrate the power of water for wellness 🌊💙

Tomorrow, we swap surfboards for paddleboards at Paddle Jam!

What do you do to honor one of your besties who passed away in 2015 while serving Travis County and her favorite color was purple?? Well, brewed purple beer!! Truth! Purple Pea Flower Saison! And rumor has it - it rocks!! Come have one with a commemorative pint glass as we celebrate Kristin’s legacy and love of life! Proceeds of The Butterfly Effect benefit Operation Get Out, a 501c3 founded in honor of Kristin McLain and Jessica Hollis.
