Awareness.
Softness.
Truth.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

And I want to name that because too often, we don’t.

Sexual assault is real.
And many carry it quietly.

I’m a survivor. 🌱

And over time, I’ve learned that awareness doesn’t require me to share everything to be valid.
I can honor my story, speak truth, and still choose what I keep for myself.

For me, healing has looked like unpacking, unlearning/relearning & softness.

Like creating space that feels safe.
Like allowing my story to exist without having to explain it.

This is part of why Candle Talk exists:
a soft pause for your mind & mood,
rooted in real life, real experiences, and the choice to keep going.

If this is part of your story too,
you’re not alone. 🩵

Even what felt buried…
can rise again.

Today, we embrace gratitude and believe that renewal is still possible.

Even gently.
Even slowly.

International Women’s Day 🤍

To the women who create space for healing — in your homes, your friendships, your families, and your communities.

And to the women who support small businesses like mine…thank you.🫶🏽

Candle Talk is a reminder that even the smallest light can hold space for someone’s healing.

Healing is a universal language. ✨

March is National Social Work Month.
A few reasons I love being a Black, Millennial Social Worker 💕💭
+ Let’s make some noise for passing the Clinical exam this past weekend 🎊🙌🏽

Social workers wear many hats. Advocacy and Support are my favorite ones. Having Black girl magic✨ is my superpower.

Friday night at Faith Friday, I shared a piece of my story — about trauma, identity, and mental health. 🕊️🌱

Being in a room where worship and small businesses coexisted reminded me that you don’t have to look like what you’ve been through. 💭

Not the hard seasons.
Not the doubt.
Not the rebuilding.

Grateful for spaces where faith and healing can exist in the same room. 💕

Love doesn’t always look like flowers and dates.
Sometimes it looks like choosing softness with yourself.
Sometimes it looks like letting today be what it is.

Whether you’re celebrating, sitting with mixed feelings, or just moving through another Saturday, your experience is valid.

I spent today holding space for others and being reminded how much gentleness matters — for them and for me. 💭💕

However this day meets you, may you meet yourself with grace.
Sending kindness + light. ✨🫶🏽

Thank you to my clients who were compassionate towards me 🥹 My field discourages gift giving from clients so definitely not expected but ABSOLUTELY appreciated 💘

Rest and self-compassion are often misunderstood — especially in cultures that reward pushing through. But both are part of emotional regulation and sustainable care.💕

These myths keep a lot of us moving past our limits instead of listening to them.✨

If this season is asking you to move more gently with yourself, that’s not a setback. It’s wisdom. If you’re learning to move more gently with yourself, you’re welcome to land here with us. 💭💕
