Ok, friends . . . or should I say girlfriends. Let's talk about Hormonal Imbalance for a minute. Anybody else suffering from any or all of these symptoms?

-unexplained weight gain or weight loss
-unexplained or excessive sweating
-difficulty sleeping
-changes in sensitivity to cold and heat
-very dry skin or skin rashes

I was initially too embarrassed to share my photo on the left from December of last year. I was 265 lbs and by far in the worst cardiovascular shape of my life. I was miserable with work, and turned to drugs and Uber eats for comfort nearly every night to cope with the stress.

Life can be hard and it’s EASY for things to get out of control. However, we all have the ability to change, to DEMAND more of ourselves. We can redirect the patterns of actions we take that ultimately form our life.

I decided to lock arms with a group of champions again who would push me to become the greatest version of myself possible. I am now striving to increase my health, knowledge, and happiness to new levels so I can pay it back to others in need.

"Total transparency post.🙈 and LONG.😜 Today marks 3 years on the start of my weight loss journey! I'm not sure I remember much of that girl in the first picture. I do remember her being tired. Tired of being overweight, tired of "fat" comments, tired of carrying around an extra 160 pounds, tired of excuses, tired of looking in the mirror everyday and hating herself, just plain tired. I have no idea what happened but one day I woke up and wanted to change. My change started with a 24 day challenge and during those 24 days, I started to see a difference, and the rest is history! Fast forward 3 years to today, 160 pounds GONE. If you think for a second it's been easy and I've been perfect for 3 years, YOU ARE WRONG! It's been hard, I've cried, I've been obsessed with the scale, I've had days when I've eaten horrible, days when I haven't worked out, and days when I look in the mirror and criticized everything I've worked for. I still struggle with people's opinions. Like right now, a picture of me in a swimsuit, worrying about what people will think. Will they think I'm too thin? Too fat? And once I hit post, I'm allowing people to give their opinions and I can't get upset if I don't like them! My sister said to me last night, "you are willing to post a picture at your heaviest in a sports bra, but scared to post a picture in your bikini?!" Yup. Crazy, I know!😬 But I come back to reality and remember, I could be the juiciest peach in the world, and someone wouldn't like peaches. It's life. Someone is always going to have something to say, and I'm learning to brush it off. I've worked hard on me, I'm not trying to lose weight now, I'm working on gaining muscle! I'm at a new place in this journey but one thing remains, I'm stilling working on myself, everyday. The most important lesson through all this is, I've learned to love myself.❤️I've been at rock bottom, not just with my weight, but life in general, and at 30 years old, I'm finally living life, not just surviving!

But beliefs don’t necessarily have anything to do with facts.

When we believe something, we choose to accept that it’s true, which may or may not have anything to do with factual certainty.

This approach of “believing” is frequently applied to nutrition.

As in:

“I believe that sugar is poison.”

“I don’t believe that humans were meant to eat grains.”

“I believe in only eating foods that are natural and organic.”

In other words, the answer to “What should I eat?” is often based on faith, magical thinking, emotional attachments, and/or what feels “truthy”, rather than on science.

💧 You can live much longer without food than you can water. “Water is an important part of all body functions and processes, including digestion and elimination. It helps flush waste from the body, which is especially important during times of fat metabolism and weight-loss.”

Water:
• Composes 75% of your brain
• Makes up 83% of your blood
• Composes 22% of your bones
• Makes up 75% of your muscles
• Cushions joints
• Helps carry nutrients and oxygen to your cells
• Moistens oxygen for breathing
• Helps convert food to energy
• Protects and cushions your vital organs

Recommended:
• On average aim for 64 ounces
• Women get 91 ounces per day
• Men 125 ounces of water per day

(consume water, drinking water, rehydrate, and foods with high water content. All consumption contributes to that total average)

NOTE:
• We are always losing water. On a hot day we can lose the equivalent of a quart of water in an hour. With that keep in mind for working out when you’re losing a lot of water to hydrate before, during, and after.

• Don’t wait to feel thirsty to hydrate, that’s a sign that dehydration has already started
