"IT'S HOTTT OUT HERE FOR US TOO!" - your pup. Here are some early signs of heat stroke: Heavy panting, Rapid breathing, Excessive drooling, Bright red gums and tongue, Standing 4-square, posting or spreading out in an attempt to maintain balance. A kiddie pool is a great way to cool down after some summer exercise!

Thank you as well to Paul Mann, Rev. Jim Mann, Kitt Richmond, Kinky Friedman, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and our other memorial speakers...your tributes and contributions made this Celebration of life truly unforgettable. Lee is certainly smiling tonight - and you know he is LOVIN' that cardboard cut out ;).

Thank you all for joining us today and celebrating Lee's life and legacy, it was a wonderful, healing day for so many. A very special thank you to Erin and Evan Hein, John Darst, and Anna Darst for making seemingly impossible dreams for the day a reality. Dignity Memorial Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home... words fail to reflect the depth of our gratitude for all you have done in memory of Lee.

05/06/2010

Does anyone have a small pop-up tent, 5x5 or 10x10ish, that we can borrow for the event today? Please call Erin at 832-233-3062. Thanks in advance.

05/06/2010

We have been getting many of the same questions this morning so we thought we'd address them here. First: The memorial service today is the only public service. Second: You can come at any time between 1 and 6. There will be speakers at 2 and 5, but the whole afternoon will be celebrating Lee. Third: Jeans are appropriate for the celebration today.

If you have more questions, we'd be happy to address them here too!

Sporting Wrangler jeans, cracked boots and a weathered T-shirt, a plug of Copenhagen to***co puffing out one cheek, Lee Mannix was a Texas good ol' boy with a distinctly outdoorsy gift: He could talk to the animals.
