As we approach this historic election, it seems that respect is becoming a most significantly central theme to be considered, both in terms of our national politics and in terms of our larger societal role here in this country and in the world. Respect for ourselves as a body of people includes necessarily our respect for one another no matter what race, nationality, faith, orientation or ability. Respect universally is truly what keeps our function whole in humanity.

Respect-Focused Therapy is an approach to psychotherapy, which embraces and supplements all modalities, theoretical approaches and techniques, by concentrating on the operative meaning and healing power of respect. In doing so, we “custom-fit” theoretical modalities and tools around the particular needs of every individual, couple or family, while we work to help them expand their personal and interpersonal experiences in a genuinely respectful way. It is with full intention and focus on respect in the therapeutic relationship and process that RFT operates.

Respect is a verb. It is action oriented, requiring us to be intentionally proactive. What can you do today to respect yourself and someone you know?

05/24/2014

I would like to invite you into a discussion about respect--a topic I feel is vital to the well being of each of us, our relationships, and our world. please feel free to say what you think respect is, how you have experienced being respected or disrespected, and how more respect could enhance the quality of life.

This is stupid, this government shutdown. But bigger than stupidity, is the vast pain and paralysis that is being posed by this move. The frightening part , to me, is in trying to understand what the real leverage is that these few extremists have over Boehner, and ultimately the rest of us? Are the...

My intention here I not to get political, but to look at the recent governing actions through the lens of A World of Respect, that is, the intention to adva...

Unfortunately, there are no required classes in school teaching kids how to become good parents. We don't seem to value the most difficult job that has ever been invented. There is no such thing as a perfect parent. Everyone makes mistakes. In fact that is a big piece of growing up-realizing that yo...

Up Coming Women's Events!

I wil be presenting in this event.

Intimacy & Sexuality Intensive
February, 23. 9:00-4:30
Cost: $175
This intensive is open to all women who are struggling with intimacy in their current relationships or who are hoping to have a deeper level intimacy in their future relationships. After experiencing repeated sexual or emotional betrayal, it is common for women to build-up walls to protect themselves. There is hope in re-establishing intimacy and this intensive seeks to educate you on the dimensions of sexuality, identify your strengths and weaknesses in each dimension, and give you ideas on how to relight the flame. We will also discuss the types of intimacy and discuss in detail what commonly keeps us detached from our partners when it comes to intimacy. You will leave this intensive with tools to help your relationship grow. Email Kali at [email protected] to register.

The tragedy in Connecticut right before the holidays seemed to hit us harder this time-harder than the average "oh, my gosh" shootings that hit the media every few months. It did for me anyway. Twenty-seven needless deaths, most of those children under the age of seven, for no understandable reason?...

Standing in line for 30 or 40 hours, for what? To get the cheapest goods, really? This is embarrassing in so many ways.
