Just last week, I was thrilled to receive recognition from Del Valle Independent School District on their Hispanic Heritage Celebration, unfortunately I was not able to attend because I was with patients but they were so kind to send me their speech presentation:

This past week, I was honored to take part in the American Association of Orthodontics Professional Advocacy Conference in Washington D.C., alongside 130 AAO members and residents! The experience allowed us to come together as a unified voice to promote the importance of patient wellness, student loans and the advancement of the orthodontic specialty, as a whole. It brings me so much joy being able to actively use our platform in national representation of our community, where we address current issues and promise developmental efforts to fellow congressmen.

Throughout the Conference, the AAO covered topics concerning …. All of which directly serve to prioritize the needs and well-being of our patients and staff.

As specialists, it is our responsibility to ensure the long lasting deliverance of quality, safety, and satisfaction within our practice. That is why, in moments like these, we are humbly reminded of the life long commitment to serve your dental needs.

I am proud of what we accomplished over the weekend, and hope to continue advocating for improving the future of our orthodontic community!

Throughout 2022, I have had the honor of participating in an ongoing leadership program representative of the SWSO. It has been such a wonderful experience being able to contribute to shaping the future for our new leaders. I am grateful for having the opportunity to complete this program, alongside my amazing teammates, who collectively worked together in addressing issues within our profession. We concluded with the presentation of our topics to board members, in hopes of furthering our association American Association of Orthodontistsand the future of orthodontics. Thank you, again, to the Texas Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists for allowing me to be part of this phenomenal program!

This past weekend I had the opportunity to join the American Association of Orthodontists members of different board committees, where we came together to discuss strategic developmental efforts and advocacy aimed towards the overall improvement of our members and patients all across the country! During the conference, I was also granted the opportunity to share my personal experience with Content Creation and bring awareness to the value of Social Media, which has allowed me to connect with individuals all around the world.
I am humbled to have gotten the chance to work alongside some of the brightest Orthodontists in the United States, who relentlessly work towards the improvement of our profession through the AAO. It is truly inspiring to know that the AAO is actively developing leaders than in a near future will lead the advancement of our profession! 🏹

Did you know that 1 in 3 children experience some form of bullying? 😬Bullying is a worldwide issue that has long-lasting mental and physical consequences for those being targeted. That is why Sonrisas is taking action to spread awareness and put an end to bullying, because we all know an initiative of the .info ! As human beings, we need to remember to empower others and show kindness every single day. One way of approaching this is treating others just as you would like to be treated. Why bring others down when you have the ability to use that energy to build each other up through support? Sonrisas is standing up for those who could use a friend and reassuring victims of bullying that you are not alone, and you are very worthy of the kindness you spread! Although we live in a world where bullying exists, it is important to remind each other of the greatness we all possess as human beings. I feel blessed to be able to celebrate my birthday another year! Being able to be surrounded by my family and old friends, it gives me the strength to strive for more in the uncoming years!

A Birthday for me is a reminder that there is still chance to create and redefine myself! As I get older, I am valuing more the limited time I have and nothing in life should be taken foregranted!

This birthday more than previous ones, will give me a chance to push myself further to impact more people through my profession and be a role model especially to my children!

I am extremely proud to be a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and have been invited to Washington D.C. to advocate for the orthodontic profession. It gives me much joy and is very inspiring for myself, to be presenting current issues around the country to members of the Congress.

Many of the topics covered are highly important as they impact our community directly. Some of these topics include, fighting student debt repayment, bringing down the cost of dental education, direct-to-consumer aligners without supervision, decreasing harmful tactics on products to prevent damage to our patients and increase flexible spending along others.

Also while in here, a bill was passed that will lead to access to care for patients in remote areas called Ensuring Lasting Smiles act.

There were also reminders on the importance of our dental community, the oaths we took on the life long commitment to our profession, improving doctor-patient relationships, and encouraging residents to get on board to support our profession.

At the end of it all, everything we do is for our patients, we must always be advocates on behalf of our own profession and our patients, and we, as our dental community, should always strive to leave a legacy in what we can and have done for others! Thank you AAO for the opportunity and for the excellence in everything this association puts together. .info

Impacted tooth 😎

Impacted tooth is a tooth that is not erupting in the right way and it is stuck due to its position or lack of space!

It is very important to save these teeth especially if they are the teeth that are vital for a healthy functional bite!

There are lots of different ways to fix the impacted tooth and one way is using Temporary anchorage device (TAD) as you can see in this picture. It’s a little mini screw that helps bring the tooth into the arch!

This techniques works great and this patient tooth was saved with this painless easy procedure that we do routinely in our orthodontic treatment!

Going to orthodontist is not just to get straight teeth but to actually get a better bite and save teeth from damaging other teeth!
