Dr. Shung is a solo practitioner who specializes in Internal Medicine. Dr. Shung graduated from University of Texas Health Science. She completed her residence at Scott and White and has been practicing medicine for over 10 years.
She is married and has 2 teenage children. She loves playing
badminton, watching football, and sewing. We accept most HMO and PPO insurance plans. We are located in the Plaza North Building north of St. David's NAMC. Dr. Shung speaks English and Chinese. Gingery Broccoli and Beef (great for all phases)
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 lb petite sirloin steak, cut into very thin strips
2 Tbs lemon juice
2 tsp freshly grated ginger
2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 to 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
2 cups broccoli, cut into flowerets
2 cups carrots, thinly sliced (phase 4 only)
1 green onion, thinly sliced
Heat the 1/2 Tbs olive oil and garlic in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the sliced beef and 1/4 tsp sea salt, and brown. Remove beef from pan to a side dish, and get rid of excess juice left in pan.
In a small bowl mix lemon juice, grated ginger, freshly ground black pepper and red pepper flakes with 1/4 cup broth.
Heat pan again over medium heat. Add 1 tsp olive oil when pan is hot.
Add broccoli and carrots to pan. Pour liquid ingredients on top and toss to coat.
Cook over medium heat until broccoli is tender.
Return the beef to the pan and add the green onions. Add the extra chicken broth if preferred.
Stir beef in until it’s coated with sauce, and let simmer for a few minutes until beef warmed through.
Frosted Chocolate Cake
2 packets IP Chocolate Drink Mix
1 packet IP Dark Chocolate Drink
Mix 2 tsp Unsweetened Cocoa
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Salt
4 Tbsp (2oz) Non-Fat Milk
1 Tbsp Olive Oil or Grapeseed Oil
1 Whole Egg + 1 Egg White
1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
Pre-heat Oven to 350°F Lightly grease a Mini-Loaf Pan w/Olive Oil Set aside 1 packet of IP Chocolate Drink Mix for frosting Mix all remaining dry ingredients in bowl Beat eggs in separate bowl and then add Milk, Oil & Vanilla Add dry ingredients to the bowl w/the wet ingredients and mix well Spoon batter into the prepared pan with a lightly greased (olive oil) spatula and spread evenly Bake for 10-15 minutes.
While cake is baking, empty the remaining IP Chocolate Drink Mix into a bowl. Add just enough water to make it the consistency of frosting. Once cake is done, you can spread your frosting on the cake immediately. (It won't melt!) Enjoy your warm Frosted Chocolate Cake!!
Makes 3 servings.
Turkey Meatballs and Vegetables (Great for all Phases)
1 lb ground turkey
2 Egg Whites
1/4 cup parsley
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp paprika
1 tsp onion powder
1 1/2 tsp minced garlic
3/4 c grated zucchini
3/4 c shredded cauliflower
1/2 c chopped mushrooms or spinach
Mix evenly and create balls. Bake for 18-20 minutes at 425 on a non-stick cookie sheet.

Banana waffle (Ideal Protein)
2 egg whites
¼ teaspoon baking powder
1 tsp Banana extract (you can use vanilla or butter).
1pkg Ideal Protein banana pudding
Mix pudding and baking powder in one bowl, mix egg whites and extract in another. Combine well dry ingredients with egg whites. Cook on a lightly oiled heated pan or waffle maker.
Ideal Protein Potato Purée Shredded Zucchini Pizza Crust
Mix 1 Ideal Protein Potato Puree
1/2 tsp baking powder
Pinch of Garlic Salt
Italian Seasoning to taste
1 egg white
2 tbsp water
1.5 cup Shredded Zucchini, cooked and squeezed to remove water.
Preheat oven to 420 with pizza stone inside. Remove stone and place mixture on stone to form pizza shell. Bake at 420 for about 7 mins,
Cauliflower Bread Sticks
1 head of cauliflower
1 tablespoon of oregano
1/2 tablespoon of basil
1 tablespoon onion powder
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper to taste
1. You can either put the whole head of cauliflower in a microwave safe dish and put in the microwave for 10 min. Then remove and put in a food processor until smooth OR you can put the cauliflower in the food processor first until you get a rice consistency and then put in a microwave safe dish and put in the microwave for 10 min.
2. Let the cauliflower cool slightly then place in the refrigerator until cooled completely.
3. Once cooled, mix the rest of the ingredients in the cauliflower.
4. Grease a cookie sheet and place cauliflower on it. Use your hands and pat down cauliflower until it is about 1/2 in thick. Place in an oven set for 425 degrees for about 25
min or until slightly brown.
5. Remove from oven and turn to broil at 500. Cut your cauliflower in the desired sticks you want and flip over. Place back in the oven until both sides are brown and desired crispness
Ideal Protein Herb and Garlic Potato Rolls
1 pack of Ideal Protein Potato Puree
6 tbsp 100% Egg Be**er Egg Whites or 2 egg whites
½ tsp baking powder
⅛ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp fresh rosemary or dash of dried rosemary
¼ tsp garlic
Olive oil spray
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Whip egg whites until bubbly not stiff.
3. Mix all other ingredients in with the whipped egg whites.
4. Spray 5 muffin tin slots with olive oil spray and pour mixture about ½ of the way full.
5. Bake in the oven for 810 minutes.
Ideal Protein Chocolate Cookies
1 chocolate drink IP pack (or 1 heaping scoop of chocolate whey isolate)
1 Tbs pure coco
1 tbs olive oil or coconut oil
1/2 tsp of baking powder and baking soda
1 Tbs of walden farms chocolate syrup or davinci Sugar free chocolate cake syrup
1 Tbs of vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 400f, mix all ingredients to make a smooth mixture. Line a small baking sheet with parchment paper and place spoonfuls of mixture on the sheet.
Bake for 15-17 minutes.
Ideal Protein Wrap (non restricted)
-IP Potato Puree Pkg
Mix water with potato puree, and spread in a preheated pan on medium heat.
Flip once the bottom has set.
Fill with your favorite ingredients.
IDEAL PROTEIN CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFINS
Chocolate Chip Muffins – Ideal Protein style
· 1 Ideal Protein Chocolatey Chip Pancake Mix (unrestricted)
· 1/4 tsp. baking powder
· 1 egg beaten
· 1/4 cup water, may need additional
· 1 packet truvia
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and spray muffin tray with olive oil cooking spray. Mix all the above ingredients in a bowl. Spoon batter into muffin tins and bake for 10-12 minutes. Recipe makes 6 mini muffins. Serving size is 6 mini-muffins.
