Texas look forward to playing a significant role in transforming rural health care in our state. "We're probably the first ones to know if something's not going right with some of these people," said Siobhan Atchley, owner of Blanco Pharmacy & Wellness. "We're front line health care providers for a lot of the people in the area. We're here for a lot of questions that people have that might save them from an emergency room visit."

With a community closing every week in Texas, Atchley hopes this funding will not only go to the rural hospitals, but also pharmacies.

"We're hoping that we can be paid for chronic care management, for remote patient monitoring, for medication review that we do. We're just as big a part of the health care needs as the hospitals are."
