Weapons of Mass Lactation Navy Nurse for 27 years, helping moms and babies with breastfeeding for 22 years. L&D was my favorite rotation in Nursing school. You either love it or hate it.

I was in the Navy for 27 years, while in the Navy I was an RN mostly in charge of Labor & Delivery and Mother Baby Units. I have one child who is now 29. I had a very difficult time with breastfeeding, I did just about everything wrong that's how I got interested in helping other moms and babies. In 1995 I was transferred to San Diego NMC and they were embarking on the Baby Friendly Certification. I got certified as a lactation consultant in 1999 and kept my certification through 2019.
