Colorectal cancer is showing up earlier and more aggressively for reasons scientists don’t fully understand.

What we do know is about 80% of colorectal cancers happen in people with no known family history and no genetic predisposition.

We also know that most cancers start as polyps, so removing a polyp is stopping a potential cancer in its tracks!

I know it’s colorectal cancer awareness month BUT(t)

Can we please be done minimizing women’s experiences? Breast cancer (which happens to men too btw) is a big deal.

Yes, disease free survival is great when it’s caught early, and that’s cause for celebration. But acting like it’s no more than an annoyance is just too much.

No mandates. No subsidies. Just an option.

Increase the pool of insured to include younger healthier folks to spread out the costs

Use the power of large numbers to negotiate better prescription drug prices for enrollees

Encourage for-profit insurance companies to stay competitive, and if they don’t, they fail

And to save everyone the trouble, I’m an Ivy-league educated liberal Californian woman surgeon, so come at me because I was either born with or actively worked toward those labels 🤷🏻‍♀️
