This page is being used as a Prayer Chain to rally around this wonderful family. JESSICA LOUANN MCGILLVRAY KOENIG
2/28/1984 – 10/21/2016
In the spring of 2011, a 27 year old mother of 3 precious little girls, Jessica McGillvray Koenig discovered a lump in her left breast. Being unalarmed, she went about her life as a young, active mother. By that August, she was officially diagnosed with stage-3 breast cancer which put her in chemo-therapy. She had a double mastectomy in April 2012. Later that summer in 2012, doctors discovered a cancerous lump within her lymph nodes which placed her in immediate radiation treatments. She would soon after learn of good news as her diagnosis by that point was "NED" (No Evidence Detected). But by February 2013, during her routine PET scan, doctors discovered her breast cancer had spread (metastasized) to her pelvic and hip bones. This cancer would eventually travel up to her brain where she lost her courageous battle on October 21, 2016 surrounded by her family and friends. Coincidentally, this particular weekend was Race for the Cure weekend in Arkansas. She is survived by her 3 precious daughters whom she fought so courageously for: Zoey, Callie, & Miley McGillvray, her husband of 7 years, Chad Koenig, her mother, Mary McGillvray, her brother, Cale McGillvray, all of Bald Knob, AR., and a huge host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will all feel the void of the loss of our precious Jessica. Jessica was many things: a daughter, sister, mother, cousin, aunt, niece, friend, and notorious baby magnet. But above all else, she was fiercely loved. Her smile and laugh will be greatly missed. May her joyous laughter be heard all throughout eternal Heaven. Per Jessica’s wish, she courageously donated her body to cancer research to hopefully help with finding a cure. "If I can help other mothers out there to not have to go through this, then I want to be a part of that." "You know that, right?"
