I’m having a really productive dialogue on another platform, and this felt important enough to bring over here.
Why are many white women seemingly afraid of confrontation? And how does that fear feed into the portrayal of the “Angry Black Woman” stereotype? Are we actually angry, are we actually aggressive, or are we just willing to lean into confrontation in ways that others are not?
Over the past several years, I’ve noticed this pattern emerge…not just in my life, but generally in the world, and I’m curious about it.
I’m curious about this phenomenon from a biological, physiological, cultural, and societal standpoint. If you have personal experience, science-backed facts, or wisdom to share around this topic, then I wholeheartedly welcome it.
If you are here to say rude or unproductive things, or leave comments that are not conducive to an actual dialogue, then this just isn’t the space for that.
Move accordingly. Thank you.
