With the new school year about to start, now would be a great time for teachers and principals to start looking at adding things to the yearly curriculum. There are a lot of young ones in elementary schools who are living through broken childhoods, and they would benefit greatly from guided classroom discussions that can help them successfully deal with the issues they are facing.

A Young Boy Named David offers program outlines for teachers based on the first 22 books of the series, which is aimed at young boys and girls who need a positive role model that they can look to for help. That’s where little David comes in!

Teachers can go through the stories with their class and then have open dialogue about the situations David faces and the lessons he learns throughout the series. There are also accompanying Activity Journals that give each student the opportunity to write out their own thoughts and feelings about each story. Writing out their inner emotions will give them a healthy outlet for any pain and anger that might be in their hearts.
