Anxiety isn’t always visible, but it’s something many people carry every day. These are some of the things people with anxiety are often tired of hearing, and what can feel more supportive instead. Because feeling understood and validated really matters. 🤍

Cameron Diaz is a whole vibe in The Holiday.
If you relate to her character and find it difficult to unplug, step away from emails, or fully shut off your “work brain,” you’re not alone.

So many of us move through the holidays still mentally working, even when we’re supposed to be resting. Below are a few gentle, realistic ways to unplug and create more space for what actually feels meaningful to you this holiday season. 🤍

If you’ve ever found yourself torn between recognizing your strengths and questioning what’s realistic for your experience, wanting to lean into confidence but worrying you might be a little delusional, this article explores that very feeling. I recently shared some thoughts with The Good Trade on this topic, and you can read more below.

Our editor explores the phenomenon of believing in a version of yourself that doesn't exist yet, and speaks to mental health experts about the benefits.

As a therapist who works with highly independent, overachieving women (especially eldest daughters), Taylor Swift’s song “Eldest Daughter” really hits home.
It captures how those early roles can shape the way we connect in relationships. 🤍

This season can fill up quickly with plans and routines, but it’s also an invitation to slow down, tune into your body, and savor the small things.

Consider this your gentle reminder to check in with yourself—what do you want to experience, and what feels important to make space for?

Here are a few mindful moments and small joys to embrace this fall. Which one are you starting with this month? 🎃🍂🍁☕️🤎

Many of us reach for control when life feels uncertain. Fixing things can bring short-term relief, but over time, it can keep us stuck in anxiety and disconnection.

Letting go doesn’t mean you don’t care. It means trusting yourself (and others) enough to allow space for what you can’t control.

Ask yourself: Where in your life do you notice the urge to “fix”? How might it feel to gently release some of that responsibility? 🤍

If The Summer I Turned Pretty was also about therapy 👀

Currently so invested in this show and these characters, so I had to make a therapy meme (TSITP therapist edition 💌).

Conrad: Exhibits classic eldest child tendencies, prioritizing others’ needs over his own and taking on the emotional labor of resolving conflict.

Belly: Struggles with self-trust, often seeking external validation before making decisions.

Jeremiah: Engages in conflict avoidance as a way to maintain harmony, even at the expense of his own needs.

Taylor: Demonstrates signs of parentification, often stepping into a caretaker role and even setting boundaries for her parent.

Steven: Relies on achievement and comparison to define his sense of self-worth.

Laurel: Functions as the emotional anchor of the family system, working to prevent intergenerational patterns from repeating.

Which one do you resonate with most? 🫶

If you’ve tried other types of therapy and haven’t felt fully satisfied with your progress, or if it seems like no matter how hard you try, certain negative beliefs just won’t shift—EMDR might be worth exploring.
