If March is hitting your body harder than you expected — you’re not doing anything wrong.

Seasonal transitions are genuinely difficult for people with chronic illness. Temperature swings, the clock change, disrupted sleep, a world that suddenly expects more from you. It’s a lot. And it lands on a body that’s already working overtime.

I wrote this month’s blog post about exactly why this happens — and what the research says actually helps.

Not all therapists are trained to work with chronic illness - and that matters, especially when you’ve spent years trying to get clarity around a diagnosis.
What you’re searching for is someone who has training in medical settings and evidence based interventions such as acceptance and commitment, therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and/or bio feedback. Unfortunately, just because a therapist themselves has a chronic illness, it doesn’t necessarily mean they have the training to treat YOUR chronic illness. Asking the right questions up front can help you avoid an
unproductive therapeutic relationship.

Migraine management isn’t only about avoiding triggers or adding meds.

Biofeedback works by training your nervous system to regulate more efficiently —especially when stress, pain, and flares overlap.

It’s okay if others don’t fully understand what your body is going through.
You don’t need the perfect words or explanations to be worthy of support.

The right people will listen, believe you, and meet you with care — just as you are. 💛

Making plans with chronic illness isn’t hard because you don’t care. It’s hard because energy is a finite resource - and guilt makes it heavier.

You don’t owe anyone an explanation. See link in bio for some ideas.

If you have POTS, lying flat all day during illness can make getting upright harder, not easier.

Sitting up (even supported) helps your nervous system stay tolerant of gravity.

This isn’t pushing — it’s protecting your baseline.

POTS isn’t diagnosed by ruling everything else out—it has criteria. Heart rate changes. Position. Symptoms.

Let’s talk about how POTS is really diagnosed.
