I discovered a game-changer last week - a cold brew mule from a local cafe (cold brew coffee and tropical ginger beer) that stole my heart! The question hit me, “what if I could make this at home?” And did! 🙌🏾

Making something delicious for yourself is a gift and therapeutic in its own right. Embrace the stillness. Get present. Dig in.

“What is that?!”
That’s exactly what the students asked when I pulled out this spiky little fruit — it’s called rambutan 🍥✨ (although I did have some experts in the room that know and love this fruit!)

After our mindful eating and nutrition session, we explored this sweet, juicy fruit as a reminder that nourishing ourselves can be curious, joyful, and full of discovery.

When we slow down, pay attention, and try something new, we open the door to deeper connection — with our food, our bodies, and each other.

This is why I do what I do. 🙌🏾 Looking forward to doing more of it!

✨ Wellness isn’t a luxury—it’s a lifeline.

I’ve had the honor of facilitating healing spaces for educators, students, human service professionals, and faith leaders—people who show up for others every single day.

And what I’ve seen time and time again?
They’re running on empty and they simply need room to breathe.

Whether it’s through a stress management session, aromatherapy, movement, or mindful cooking—these aren’t just “nice” add-ons. They’re essential practices for restoring ourselves from the inside out.

👂🏾So I’m listening:
What kind of wellness support would your team most benefit from?

If you’re building out programming for staff wellness, team retreats, or community engagement—I’d love to collaborate.

We got some new quinoa lovers in the house tonight and my heart is so happy! 🙌🏾 we made stir fry veggies with quinoa…simple, healthy and delicious!

When people open up to try foods that they have previously written off, it makes the work more meaningful for me.

More than anything, we’re choosing to improve our quality of life.

We’re reconnecting with the wisdom of our ancestors.

We’re choosing to eat from the abundance of the earth.

Get some in your life! Thanks to Pleasant Hope for trusting me to lead this series and making space for me. 🫶🏾

Kitchen Therapy with Jaree has made its way to Pleasant Hope Baptist Church!

We’ve been journeying together during this Lent season to consider healthier alternatives to our standard diet. This week’s focus was on eliminating meat and dairy for our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. We made sautéed oyster mushrooms, chickpea fritters and a massage kale salad. All plant based and full of flavor!

If you’ve been fasting this season, whether for Lent or Ramadan, what have you been learning?
