Got a Oil? with Stacie Ross

Got a Oil? with Stacie Ross Essential oils are used for a very wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications. They can be both beautifully and powerfully fragrant.

Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. If you have ever enjoyed the gift of a rose, a walk by a field of lavender, or the smell of fresh cut mint, you have experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. In addition to giving plants their distinctive smells, essential oils provide plants with protection against predators and disease and play a role in plant pollination.

Basil has a warm, spicy, yet herbal aroma known to enhance memory function while reducing stress and tension. Basil provides restorative benefits to both the mind and body due to its high linalool content, making it an ideal application for sore muscles and joints and to reduce tension when applied to the temples and back of neck. Basil is commonly used in cooking to add a a fresh, herbal flavor to meats, pastas, and entree dishes, but it is also cooling to the skin and can be used to sooth minor irritations.
