Core day at the barre — and a little honesty.

Yes, I’ve been working out (except Christmas Day 🎄).
Yes, life has been busy.
And yes… I’ve been forgetting to post.

But here’s the thing — consistency doesn’t live on social media. It lives in the small daily choices we make to show up for ourselves, even when life feels full.

Starting my day with core work helps me feel grounded, strong, and supported — especially in my 50s when core strength plays such a big role in balance, posture, and overall movement.

If you’ve been doing the workouts but not posting, or if you’ve missed a day or two — you’re not behind. You’re human.

Keep showing up.
Keep starting your day strong.
That’s what really counts.

🌿 5 Reasons I Make Yoga Part of My Weekly Routine 🌿

Sundays are for yoga—a reset that helps me finish the week strong and start the new one with energy. Here’s why yoga is such an important part of my hybrid fitness lifestyle (especially in your 50s):

1️⃣ Flexibility & Mobility → Keeps muscles lengthened and joints healthy.
2️⃣ Balance & Stability → Strengthens the smaller stabilizing muscles that protect us as we age.
3️⃣ Posture & Core → Builds strength through alignment and control, not just intensity.
4️⃣ Recovery & Reset → Reduces soreness from weight training and prepares me for the week ahead.
5️⃣ Mind + Body Connection → Lowers stress, increases mindfulness, and creates calm energy.

Fitness isn’t just about pushing hard. It’s about variety, balance, and consistency. For me, yoga is the missing piece that makes everything else stronger.

Because there’s no finish line. This is a lifestyle.

👉 Do you add yoga or stretching into your week?

Hey friends — it’s been a minute since I posted, but I’m still here:
💪 Showing up for my workouts
💛 Showing up for my 50s
👟 And reminding myself it’s not about perfection — it’s about consistency

Today was Upper Body Day – Week 6 of Speed Train, and wow… it pushed me in the best way.

4 moves —
⏱️ 60 – 40 – 20 – 40 – 60 seconds
⬆️ Weights go UP as the time goes DOWN

Shoulders, chest, back, biceps — all on fire by the end!

At this stage of life, strength training is a must.
We lose muscle as we age, and that affects energy, metabolism, and even balance.
The solution?
→ Smart, efficient workouts
→ A plan to follow
→ Fueling your body (and mind!) the right way

And the best part?
These workouts are only 25 minutes and all online — no guesswork, no commute, no excuses.

If you want to feel stronger, more energized, and more confident in your 50s and beyond…
✨ Send me a DM! I’ll share what I’m doing and how it’s working for me.

Let’s lift each other up — literally 💪

Week 2 – Day 2: Upper Body Burn

Today’s session was all about upper body — and it delivered.

This isn’t your average arm day. It’s short, focused, and intense… in the best way.

Here’s what I tackled in just 25 minutes:
🔥 Bicep curls with slow, controlled tempo
🔥 Overhead presses
🔥 Bent-over rows
🔥 Tricep pushups & reg pushups
🔥 Chest flys
🔥 A burnout loop round that lit my shoulders up (think pulses + holds 😅)

Why upper body matters so much in our 50s:
✔️ Keeps your posture strong
✔️ Supports shoulder and neck health
✔️ Gives you the strength for real life (carrying grandkids, groceries, luggage — all of it)

And the best part?
You don’t need an hour. You just need a plan that works — and this one does.

👇 Drop a 💪 if you’re working on upper body strength this week — or tell me your favorite arm move.

Passion for People

For many years I have tried everything to lose weight and feel great. When I was younger all I did was run every day because at the time I couldn’t afford to go to a gym and I did like to run. I did many races including 2 half marathons. Then as I got older, I joined a gym, I did aerobic classes and spinning and even ventured into doing triathlons. I loved the challenge and loved the exercise but I still was not seeing any results. It was very frustrating.

I consistently weighed the same. I thought the more I worked out the more I could eat and eat anything I wanted. It was getting harder and harder and instead of loosing weight I started adding a few pounds here and there. I also thought I was eating pretty healthy. I ate fruit, veggies, meats, and hardly ever had fried foods and such. I was the queen of 100 calorie packs and fat free foods because i thought they were good for you. But still I felt like I was at a standstill my body was not changing no matter what I tried.

I was just not happy with the way I looked, how my clothes felt, and I thought it was just going to get worse as I got older. So, now that I am in my forties I knew I needed to do something about it.

One of my dream jobs was to also be a personal trainer but to start school, change careers, and start over was not in the cards. I was seeing the success others were having on Facebook, one of them being Katie’s boyfriend, so I reached out to him and he told me what he was doing and introduced me to Katie. I guess I should thank him for that.
