RECEPTIONIST (Full-time) -- Aspen Medical Care, a distinctive family medical practice providing progressive medicine with old fashioned care, seeks a full time receptionist for our Aspen office. Duties include answering phones, scheduling and greeting patients, and computer entry. The opportunity to be cross-trained as a medical assistant is available to interested candidates.

Qualifications include dependability, excellent communication skills, a sunny disposition, computer skills and attention to detail. This position is four days a week and will require infrequent Saturday morning hours. Pay rate is $26/hour, after a 3 month paid training period. Aspen Medical Care also provides an attractive full time benefit package, including paid time off, health insurance, 401k, ski pass, and bus and parking passes.

Valley View, in partnership with Garfield County Public Health and Grand River Health, is excited to respond to the Governor’s expanded Phase 1 for COVID-19 vaccines. If you are Garfield County resident over the age of 70, please read the following for important details.

Beginning Monday, January 4 at 8a.m., residents of Garfield County age 70 and older can make appointments at Valley View Hospital to receive their COVID-19 vaccine. An appointment is required to receive the vaccine.

To schedule an appointment, call 970.384.7632 Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Scheduling is based on the availability of vaccine doses. If Valley View Hospital not have enough doses, individuals will be placed on a waitlist.

Individuals must be a resident of Garfield County. Residents are defined as those with a permanent mailing or physical address within Garfield County or, those who own property in Garfield County and reside there for longer than 30 days at a time. Residents of other counties should look to their respective public health agencies for information on how they may receive the vaccine.

Two doses of the vaccine are required. All those being scheduled will be asked to confirm their ability to receive the second dose to ensure maximum efficacy of the vaccine. The vaccine is free and no administration fee will be charged.

Garfield County residents who are 70 years and older and have additional health complications should reach to their primary care provider. Primary care practices may refer high-risk patients who are 70 years and older directly to hospitals for priority scheduling.

Aspen Medical Care is wishing Happy Trails to Dr. Kim Scheuer. After 22 years, Dr. Scheuer is moving on. Her last day with Aspen Medical Care will be Friday, October 2, 2020. Aspen Medical Care is seeing patients in our Aspen office Monday through Saturday and in our Basalt office Monday through Friday. Starting Monday, June 29, 2020, our hours will change to 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday in both offices and 8 am to noon Saturday in our Aspen office only. Currently, our hours in both offices are 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and 8 am to noon Saturday in our Aspen office only. We stop accepting walk ins at 4 pm on weekdays and 11 am on Saturdays.

All patients must be assessed prior to entering our offices. This means that our front doors will be locked. Anyone entering our office must wear a cloth face covering. Patients who have cough, fever, difficulty breathing, sore throat, rash, diarrhea, trouble tasting or smelling, or have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 will be directed to call 970-920-0104 to be assessed via telephone. Patients being seen for any other reason will be assessed outside by a staff member prior to being admitted to the office.

Aspen Medical Care is also offering telemedicine via telephone and/or video visits. Patients can call the office to see if they meet the requirements for telemedicine.
