RIP Erik Dalton 1944-2025. this guy was a huge influence on me and the massage and bodywork world helping massage gain recognition as a legitimate form of healthcare. he spent a lifetime in service to others relieving pain to those suffering through hands on bodywork and spreading his knowledge.

thanks a ton for your support in 2024! just wanted to put it out there that i will be Out of Office the next few weeks until January 3rd 2025. if you're reading this in an attempt to book an appointment the fastest way to get on the schedule is to visit my website medicinemanmassage.com and there's an easy booking link you can follow. it feels a bit indulgent to be out of the office this long but i will be attending a training in Torun, Poland in an attempt to further my knowledge and skill in manual therapy. Zoga is a practice created by the most brilliant mind i've encountered in the movement and bodywork world Wojtec Cackowski and is "a movement concept for anyone who wants to achieve freedom and awareness of movement and posture in 4D. It tests all possible relationships of the body to gravity and creates many global and local movement vectors available in the body." i first encountered the practice when i attended a 3 day workshop in Maine and was blown away by the lasting physical sensations/structural change i experienced in the aftermath of just getting a taste of the prigram in their introductory offering. "it is specifically designed to increase the freedom of glide between myofascial layers of the body" and there is an emphasis placed on shearing interstitial spaces between muscle groups and superficial to deep layers. your body responds and adapts to the practice more like deep bodywork then to a traditional yoga/movement practice and makes for powerful sensations throughout the system. i've found it to be a very powerful, low cost, and empowering intervention and diagnostic for my own chronic pain/postural restrictions after chasing jiu jitsu related low back pain with no or limited health insurance the last 15 years or so. Wojtec's work is already being incorporated into the Polish and European healthcare systems and i am certain there's a strong need/demand that is sure to follow in the US and beyond. i hope to bring back some new tools to help better serve you all in 2025! thanks again for all the support!!

i am pumped the heck up to announce i was recently able to change my Merchant Category Code to 8099 as a Health+Wellness Provider offering Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage! this allows me to accept FSA+HSA credit cards and is a huge step forward in getting massage recognized as a valid form of healthcare!!
