👉 AFib is the 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞, currently affecting over 5 million Americans, with numbers expected to more than double by 2030.

As we observe National CPR and AED Awareness Week (June 1-7), Baton Rouge Cardiology Center wants to highlight the incredible value of learning CPR. This past Monday, June 2nd, our community had a fantastic opportunity to do just that at the FREE CPR & First Aid training session hosted by Baton Rouge Cardiology Center at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library (EBRPL) at their Jones Creek Regional Branch Library.

Knowing CPR is a powerful skill that can truly make a life-saving difference, especially when 70% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen at home. We commend everyone who dedicated their time this week to become more prepared and empower themselves with these critical skills! Let's continue to spread awareness throughout CPR Week and beyond.

• Melinda, Supervisor, Medical Transcription Department: For over 20 years, Melinda has led our medical transcription team at BRCC, drawing on over 40 years of diverse experience. She cherishes a career that allows her to apply her language skills and attention to detail to safeguard accurate patient records.

• Sara, Assistant Supervisor, Medical Transcription Department: Marking 20 years with BRCC's transcription department this year, Sara is always eager to learn and enhance efficiency. She thrives in our fast-paced environment, emphasizing accuracy and efficiency. "There is no room for error," she states, "I think of every patient as a family member." Her coworkers add, "Sara brings a positive attitude and happy vibe to work every day."

• Rebecca, Assistant Supervisor Medical Transcription Department: With 30 years as a medical transcriptionist and 15 years collectively with BRCC, Rebecca is deeply committed to accuracy. She treats every record as if it were her own, ensuring the highest standards are met.

• Staci, Medical Transcriptionist: Joining the Baton Rouge Cardiology team in 2017, Staci has 18 years of experience as a medical transcriptionist. She values her career for the ability to make a difference and protect patients' loved ones through her meticulous work, grateful to be part of a team that shares her passion.

• Kim, Medical Transcriptionist: With over 30 years in medical transcription, Kim finds fulfillment in contributing to patient care and is a proud member of the BRCC Team.

• Kathy, Medical Transcriptionist: Kathy, a dedicated medical transcriptionist, has been an invaluable asset to BRCC for 24 years. Her commitment to accurately documenting each patient's journey is crucial, allowing BRCC to provide exceptional patient care.

• Joseph, Transcription Clerk: Now in his third year as a transcription clerk, Joseph understands the importance of meticulous detail.
