Congratulations to our Akron/Cuyahoga Falls/Medina Lead Ophthalmic Technician Erica Reyes, who celebrated 10 years of service with us on Sunday, July 6.
Erica originally started with Dr. Hull and Dr. Tsai’s private practice in 2015. At the time, it was called Retina Group of Northeast Ohio. Erica started working two days a week, then advanced to three. She enjoyed coming to work so much that she decided to start working full-time.
“When we merged with Retina Associates of Cleveland in 2020, it was an amazing opportunity to get the lead position,” said Erica. “I like the environment, talking with patients, and feeling like I’m making a difference. There’s always something new to learn, even after 10 years.”
Merging with a bigger practice is never easy, but both groups were committed to making it work. Each practice had their own way of doing things. They worked together to discover and implement best practices from each side. This helped with standardizing procedures.
“I like the way the communication has been,” commented Erica. “There’s a lot more communication between the different leads in each region. The staff have functioned better as a family unit since the merge. Everyone gets along so much better.”
Erica is a mom of four, and enjoys watching her kids’ baseball, basketball, and volleyball games. She also likes to read and go to the gym.
