The prediction of inches can be 3” to a foot. To the folks who don’t pay dues: don’t complain about plowing. To the folks who pay: plowing in huge storm requires strategies that have to be considered. If we don’t plow at all, it will be an icy mess, but no one has to worry about being plowed in at your driveways. So we call for plowing and then the complaints come hard and fast. That being said, there are multiple texts and phone calls throughout the entire storm. I will not be sleeping at all. With a storm of this nature, the plowed snow has to go somewhere. The person who plows is very fair priced. Otherwise, we’d be up the creek since so many don’t bother paying their dues, BUT they are the first ones to complain. It’s a thankless job for both myself and the plow guy. Quite truthfully, neighborhoods like across the street pay over 6000.00 a year whether it snows or not. Plus additional fees in larger storms. Our current balance is almost 6000.00. No matter how hard the plow guy or myself try, we get complaints. This guy is returning thankfully. We lose them most of the time due to complainers. As a native of PA, I find it unbelievable the way people act when it snows. We are very fortunate that we don’t usually get slammed with snow. To be honest, if this storm takes us to a zero balance, that’s fine by me. Then we will become like the other neighborhoods who don’t get plowed at all because no one pays their dues in those neighborhoods. I feel very bad for the few who have been faithful and carry that weight for the rest of you. And for that, those of you who don’t pay should be ashamed of yourselves. We will do the best we can under the circumstances. If that’s not good enough, sorry. If there are medical emergencies, there are ambulances and other 4wd vehicles standing by to assist. Please be understanding if we do indeed encounter a large amount of snow. Our neighborhood is NOT easy to plow, show some grace towards the guys. Sometimes, I have to lay it on the line a little harder about things like this. Until you walk in our shoes, please be understanding.
