Firefighter Cancer Consultants, LLC

Firefighter Cancer Consultants, LLC The Firefighter Cancer Consultants was established in late 2014.

We have assisted Fire Departments throughout the US & Canada with establishing or enhancing their Firefighter Cancer Awareness, Prevention, and Support programs. Multiple Studies have shown that Firefighters have an increased risk of being diagnosed with cancer. The Firefighter Cancer Consultants (FCC) can show the actions that can be taken to minimize that risk. The Firefighter Cancer Consultants (FCC) will visit your department to evaluate your fire stations, and review your department policies/procedures. The FCC will compose an individualized plan for your department with items that will help to decrease your member’s risk of being diagnosed with cancer. The Firefighter Cancer Consultants (FCC) can train your members on firefighter cancer awareness, and preventative measures that they can use to decrease their risk of being diagnosed with cancer.

The plot thickens! Apparently the "author" of my fake book actually passed away in October of 2016. Despite all of your reporting, Amazon is taking their time removing the book. I tried talking to them today and their fraud department doesn't accept phone calls, only emails. Hopefully the book will be removed in the next few days. Check out the photos below to see our sleuth detective work.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Apparently someone thought enough of my book "Overcoming Tuesday" to write an unauthorized book....about my book.

Please do me a big favor and go to the link below and click on report an issue with this product or seller. I would then click on "This product or content is illegal, unsafe or suspicious" Please write something along the lines of.....This book is a rip off of Overcoming Tuesday. David R. Grice has plagiarized this book and it needs to be removed from Amazon Marketplace immediately.

A few years ago I had the honor or interviewing Brendan Mcdonough, the lone survivor from the Granite Mountain Hotshots. We both felt it was important to discuss the aftermath of the Yarnell Fire. This is still one of my favorite interviews.

I share this video every year on the anniversary. I've been blessed to hang with Brendan in Prescott and have him on my own turf in "Exotic Beavercreek Ohio" at last year's Firefighter Health & Wellness Conference. Thanks to Fire Engineering for making the connection.

Host Jim Burneka speaks with Brendan McDonough, the lone survivor of the Granite Mountain Hotshots. This episode focuses on the aftermath of the June 30th, ...

Firefighter PFAS Legislation – Call your Senators and Reps

A few weeks ago, important legislation was proposed in Congress that would compensate firefighters who have been diagnosed with certain diseases and were exposed to PFAS. (Note: All firefighters have been exposed to PFAS through turnout gear and firefighting foam.) Firefighters are being encouraged to contact our representatives and senators to urge them to support this legislation. The reps/senators contact info can be found here and here.

Here’s the background on the bill: Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Rep. Darren Soto (D-FL) introduced legislation that would compensate firefighters who are suffering injuries or have died from PFAS-related conditions. The Firefighter PFAS Injury Compensation Act, if passed, would direct the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to establish a program under which would allow eligible firefighters to file a claim to seek awards up to $250,000 for firefighters diagnosed with cancer and $50,000 for those battling other illnesses due to PFAS. The full text of the bill can be found here.

Our Story

The Firefighter Cancer Consultants, LLC was established in late 2014. We have assisted Fire Departments throughout the country with their Firefighter Cancer Awareness, Prevention, and Support programs.

We specialize in comparing your departments current practices, with the best practices on reducing your members risk of being diagnosed with occupational firefighter cancer. We conduct policy/procedure reviews, and interviews to gain an understanding on how your department functions on the fire scene and back at the firehouse. Upon arrival, we will conduct an in-depth fire station inspection(s) on items relevant to firefighter cancer.

An Action Plan Report is composed from the information obtained from the policy review, interviews, and inspections. The report is based off of NFPA standards and scientific studies. The report will offer recommendations and prioritize areas that can be improved. The report will be discussed in detail with the interested parties. We will also include a sample policy binder so that departments do not have to start from scratch on creating new firefighter cancer related policies.

We also provide Firefighter Cancer Awareness, Prevention, and Support training for all department members. The trainings are personalized for each department. We can also tailor make trainings for Company Officers, Command Staff, and recruit firefighters.
