Dream Great Dreams Wall Clocks & Home Decor made from recycled bicycle parts, vintage film reels and vintage cameras. ww Welcome! If you can dream it, I can create it!

Dream Great Dreams specializes in bicycle inspired clocks, film or movie inspired clocks, bicycle inspired jewelry, bike themed art and household items. Everything is made with recycled or up cycled bicycle parts including bicycle gears, bicycle frames, bicycle spokes, bicycle chain, etc. I scour local bike shops and rummage through their recycling bins and pull out anything that inspires me that I think I can make something new out of. There is such beauty in bicycle gears, they are each so different and the patterns are simply wonderful. What I end up with are unique handmade items that are perfect for your home, office, children's bedroom, family room, or anywhere you want to make a unique statement; guaranteed to be a conversation piece at your next gathering! My customers tell me these make the perfect gift! My sweet grandson, Ezra, was the inspiration for my Etsy store...

I started selling in November of 2013 after my 2nd grandson, Ezra, was born in April of 2013 with Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia or JMML (you can learn more about this disease at https://thejmmlfoundation.wildapricot.org) and Noonan Syndrome (more info on this disease can be found at: http://www.teamnoonan.org/information/). This disease can bring many health troubles (small stature, learning disabilities, congenital heart defects, GI difficulties, etc.) it is too soon for us to know just how Ezra will be effected, but in the cuteness department, he is nothing but! Although it's only been months since this sweet little guy was born, it feels like it's been an eternity. During the first few months Ezra had to endure weekly blood tests, a transfusion, bone marrow biopsies, genetic testing, and surgery to implant a feeding tube. He also went through his first round of chemotherapy. Gratefully, I’m happy to say these things have helped. In these past 12 months, he has put on weight and his spleen, which had been dangerously enlarged, has seen much improvement. People have asked what they could do to help. There are so many wonderful charities out there researching childhood cancer or helping sick kids do fun things, it would be impossible for me to list them all. I encourage you to do some research and find something that moves you or pulls on your heart. Through Ezra's journey I have developed a passion for increasing the bone marrow donors registry. I am trying to spread the word and let people know just how easy it is to register and in doing so, potentially save a life. The process is free and the swab kit comes right to your door. Now they can't make it much easier than that, can they! Thankfully at this time, beautiful Ezra does not need a bone marrow donation (shortly after he was born we thought this was a very real possibility but learned that most kids born with Noonan Syndrome resolve JMML all on their own without this procedure. SO thankful!!!) But this selfless act of kindness could potentially save the life of another beautiful little one. Sadly, 6 out of 10 never receive the bone marrow donation they need to save their life...

If donating isn't the right choice for you, and there are a million reasons why it might not be, please tell someone about this... You know, if I tell 25 people, and they tell 25 people, and they tell 25 people.... well, you get the idea ;-) One of the online ways you can sign up and request a FREE swab kit is at:
http://www.deletebloodcancer.org. I am both humbled and inspired as I watch the loving strength that guides my son and and daughter-in-law's lives. These are two of the most loving parents I have ever seen. Before Ezra was born, they could often be found volunteering in their church or coaching high school lacrosse; helping others truly comes second nature to them. They are both amazing people… My daughter-in-law has a great blog http://meettheparkersoregon.blogspot.com/p/meet-ezra.html - this is THE place to see how Ezra's doing and what the entire Parker family is up to. She is a wonderful writer (the information on Noonan Syndrome has even been utilized by the medical community during presentations!) SO proud of them both! A portion of every sale goes to a fund setup for Ezra and his big brother Judah to use for medical expenses, or anything my son and daughter-in-law feel they need. Your purchase makes a real difference in my family's life - THANK YOU! Viki

thursday afternoon in the Dream Great Dreams workshop, just finished a hanging bike gear clock with a dreamy chainring. earlier this year my little shop surpassed 2,500 orders. i noticed it when the order came in and then got busy and forgot to mention it to anyone. i’m proud of my little shop, proud of myself too. every month i donate a few pieces to charity auctions and i donate a large portion of the proceeds as well. i started this venture because i wanted to leave a legacy. a legacy of generosity. with your words, with your money, with your kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and love. boxing this one up, travel safe #2,588 ❤️

“staying positive doesn’t mean you have to be happy all the time, it means that even on the hard days you know that there are better ones coming”.
thanks for this! my spirits have been a bit down this week. no real reason, just the time’s we are all living in right now i think... so here’s wishing we give each other the kindness we hope for ourselves, the common courtesy we all deserve, and the love we all need. my grandpa used to say “be a person you are proud of when you look in the mirror each night.” such a wise man...
making these clocks today and thinking about all of the folks working in the healthcare trenches. sending and a big fat ! ❤️.

this is year #7 for my husband Gary to get his head shaved and raise funds for childhood cancer. our grandson was born in 2013 with Juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML), a serious chronic leukemia (cancer of the blood) that affects children mostly aged 4 and younger. i know you are inundated with donation opportunities but i can’t think of a better cause to fight then childhood cancer and i can’t think of a better organization to partner with then St. Baldrick's Foundation - every dollar makes a difference!

sharing this every year is just another reminder of the amazing man i’m married to. thank you for being such a compassionate, kind, and loving husband, father, and grandfather gleigh 😘

to learn more about Juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML) go here - https://thejmmlfoundation.wildapricot.org/

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research and stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer! Make a donation to support my fundraising efforts!
