Here are 6 common acne triggers we look for during our Acne Consultations ⬇️

1. Hormones
Hormonal shifts can increase oil production and lead to clogged, inflamed pores. This often shows up along the jawline, chin, and lower face and can feel frustratingly persistent.

2. A Damaged Skin Barrier
When the skin barrier is compromised, it can’t protect itself properly. This allows bacteria and irritation to sneak in, making breakouts harder to calm and heal. Supporting the barrier is always one of our first steps.

3. Stress
Stress affects your skin more than you think. Elevated stress can increase oil production and slow healing, which is why breakouts often linger during stressful periods.

4. Diet
Certain foods can contribute to inflammation and trigger breakouts. Diet plays a role in your skin journey, which is why we talk about it.

5. Over-Exfoliating
Using too many actives or exfoliating too often can backfire. Instead of clearing acne, it can inflame the skin, weaken the barrier, and actually create more breakouts.

6. Pore-Clogging Products
