Hi all!
I figured since my social media has been quiet I would post an update.

2023 was a wonderful year - my business grew, I got married, and I found out I am expecting my first child in June of 2024!

I am so excited to see what the rest of 2024 is going to bring for business and my new journey into parenthood.

My love for helping individuals with their nutrition goals has only grown and I hope to help more and more individuals this year. If you’re looking for support with nutrition and a certain disease state or nutrition and lifestyle changes I would love to help!

I am accepting most major NH insurance companies at this time. With both in-person and virtual appointments available.

One of the most common problems we see in our 1:1 sessions with clients is meal planning and prepping taking way too long or being too complicated. That’s exactly why we put together this class, to help make the process quicker and easier.

My social media has been a little quiet recently… I got caught up planning my wedding so content took the backseat for a while!

On 09.30.2023 I was lucky enough to marry my person. We had a beautiful wedding down in Cape Cod, MA. It was an incredible day all around!

That being said, I do want to address a common thought when getting married: “I need to lose weight to fit into my dress” “I should restrict my food the week before to reduce bloating and maybe drop a few pounds before the big day”

I won’t lie, a few times I had to talk myself out of these thoughts. I would catch myself and say “No, I do not need to change my body for my wedding day”. It is so easy to let those negative voices win.

Even being a professional who encourages clients daily to find other indicators of success towards nutrition goals besides the scale (like energy levels, how their food is making them feel, etc..), I still find myself occasionally having some diet culture centered thoughts. Changing your mindset takes continuous effort and lots of practice!

So for anyone out there getting ready for a big event (wedding or non-wedding), I invite you to challenge your negative body image thoughts and embrace your beautiful self. Celebrate your love while thanking your body for all it has done to get you to that joyous day 💕💍🎉

I started this page almost two years ago now! I figured it was time to re-introduce myself to any new followers that have joined since. My name is Shelby, I am a Registered Dietitian with a background in culinary arts! 👩🏻‍🍳 In my free time, I love to cook and bake many different foods! I also teach cooking classes at the Culinary Playground🍳

I love working with my clients 1 on 1 to help them achieve their nutrition goals and heal their relationship with food. There is so much to stress about in this world, unnecessary food rules shouldn’t be one! I also aim to be a support for those who are navigating chronic illness or a new diagnosis that involves changes in eating habits. Education and support are crucial during challenging times.

The last year has been incredibly busy and exciting for me personally and for RD to Wellness! 🤩

Personally, I got engaged last July to my fiancé Jay. 💍 We have been planning our wedding which is in September! Also, we were lucky enough to be able to travel to the beautiful island of Bermuda in May. ☀️

On the business side, I am now affiliated with Nutrition in Motion. Nutrition in Motion has been an incredibly helpful resource in continuing to build my business and allows me to spend more time with my clients! I currently have the largest client load yet and I look forward to continuing to grow! 💪🏻

If you made it this far, I want to say a HUGE thank you! I wouldn’t be where I am without such amazing support from family, friends, fellow Dietitians, and of course clients! I hope to be able to post here more often. This page has been a fun way for me to share recipes and tips around nutrition.

Mindful Eating can be HARD

Check out these tips to try out when eating!

Mindful eating techniques can be a great way to tune into your body’s natural cues. It can help you really enjoy your food and be present for the experience. It also allows your body the time it needs to gauge when you’re feeling satisfied from your meal to help prevent eating until you’re uncomfortably full. 🧘

This being said, every time you eat does NOT have to be mindful. Of course, in a perfect world we would all love to be mindful each time we eat. But let’s be honest, it is hard to be mindful when you’re eating as you’re running out the door!

Plus, there will be times in life where we eat past fullness. It happens!

It is 100% ok that you aren’t mindful 100% of the time! It is not worth the stress to strive for perfection. There is no such thing! Plus, added stress is NOT helpful! 😅🚫

Working with an RD towards more mindful practices can help you connect with your body and enjoy the eating experience without feelings of stress, guilt, or fear. Like all things, this takes time and practice so email or DM me if you’d like to get started! 📲

Looking to provide your immune system with extra support this cold and flu season?😷💪

While there isn't one single food or action that can keep you from getting sick, there are steps you can take to support a healthy immune system!

Limit stress by finding ways to reduce stress such as exercise, journaling, meditation, or getting out into nature 🌿

Get enough sleep! Your body needs rest to support a healthy immune system. Adults should aim for 7-9 hours. 💤

Wash your hands! Keep your living space and dishes clean to prevent the spread of germs. 🧼

Eat a variety of foods. While there isn't one food that will keep illness away, there are certain nutrients that support the immune system. Including foods that contain these nutrients can be beneficial! Focus on a varied diet that includes fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains.
