💚30% OFF kids yoga lesson plan BE KIND!

What are you teaching in your kids yoga classes at the beginning of school?

I begin with kindness. We all would like to see our kids being kind to themselves and the people around them.

In September, kids go back to school and meet new people. It’s an exciting time for them to make new friends and practice being kind, accepting, patient and inclusive.

The BE KIND Kids Yoga Unit is filled with a partner yoga sequence, a breathing technique, kindness meditation, a game and a fun art activity to promote kindness and respect towards ourselves and others.

The Be Kind unit is a great resource to have when teaching anti-bullying in schools, camps or yoga classes. The unit includes 4 yoga lesson plans, 4 student handouts, a unit outline and music suggestions.

😍Hey! It’s a new year and I thought I’ll introduce myself for all the new people!

💃My name’s Irina Kazakevic, but this year, I’m going by Fia. Yep, that’s my nickname!

I’ve been living in Canada for over 30 years, more than half my life. Have I fully adapted? Kinda, though I still enjoy conversing in my native Russian and connecting with folks who share similar outlooks on life.

I see teaching as my calling in life. Started out teaching dance and music back in my pedagogical college days. Then transitioned to piano and music theory lessons. Currently, I’m still at it, teaching as a Grade 4 teacher in a middle school.

🧘‍♀️I’ve been passionate about yoga since my university days. In 1993, while expecting my eldest daughter, I began practicing on my own. Since then, yoga has been a constant in my life, only growing more meaningful.

I completed my first yoga training and became a certified RYT 200 yoga teacher in Canada in 2007. Same year, got my RCYT certification for teaching kids’ yoga at the Kripalu Yoga Center in the US.

🤸‍♂️I opened a company called Well-Being Yoga and from then on, I’ve been a yoga and well-being advocate, teaching classes, conducting workshops, offering teacher training and professional development within my school system. I also took part in professional conferences, and taught yoga to both kids and adults at school and my home studio in Mississauga.

In 2009, I furthered my knowledge, becoming an Ayurveda Yoga specialist at the Himalayan Yoga Institute in Pennsylvania, USA.

🔥2014 marked the start of my second yoga teacher training with Rod Stryker, Para Yoga in the US. Completing 11 Yoga Master Training courses, I gained accreditation as a Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 instructor.

In 2015, I trained as a facilitator in The Four Desires method, focusing on Sankalpa and Dharma (intentions and life purpose).

❤️My work in kids’ yoga led me to establish the Yoga Break for Children school in 2015. That journey included creating an online course, teacher training for kids’ yoga, and publishing Kids Yoga Units, a collection of 52 yoga lesson plans for children.

🌟Happy New Year, my Friends!🌟

On January the 1st, I woke up feeling like I have a gift 🎁 in front of me – another year of life, brand new, clean, like a untouched canvas for an artist or a blank sheet of paper for a writer. 🎨

What will we create? What mark will we leave? How will we change ourselves? How will we love our dear ones? What will we contribute to this vast, untouched space called the New Year⁉️

I'm excited! 💃 This is not just another morning! Some might say, what has really changed? Well, everything!!! 🔥🔥🔥 We have a new chance to make a difference! We always have it, but today, it's emphasized, focused! Don't miss it, don't let it slip away! ❤️

May positivity, energy, love, and gratitude fill you up! This is the soil from which everything else grows, everything we wish for! 🌱

Today, get excited in a good way, get inspired, and start writing on your new, clean sheet as creators. ✍️ Because we are creators!!! Never forget that! ✨✨✨

Sending hugs and kisses to all! Here's to new beginnings! 🎉💃🔥🌟

☀️ It’s getting to the end of summer and we are already thinking about going back to school.

As a teacher I am definitely preparing mentally and emotionally! As a parent not so much, since my kids are grown up ans this pic is almost 20 years old.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 As I’m looking at it, I’m remembering how, as a family, we did yoga on the lake almost every summer. It was fun and so beneficial for all of us!

Did you do yoga outside with your kids this summer! If not, there is still time, since we still have a few weeks of warm weather ahead of us!

🌳🌊☀️I wrote a post about doing yoga outside on my personal account .yoga.kula

🤸‍♂️ It’s the one with a pic where I’m in headstand on the dock (show off! 🤣)

😍 I hope the tips in that post are helpful for your family or students!

And let me know in the comments what is your favourite place to do yoga outside?🙏❤️

🎉❤️ "Celebrate endings—for they precede new beginnings.” 👏❤️

Jonathan Lockwood Huie

Do you look back at your year and do some kind of review? I did it for many years!

Well, I tried this year to do it too… However, I was not able to!

I asked myself a question, “What did I do in 2022?” And my spontaneous answer was — LIVING!

Surprisingly, it was enough for me!

Living, feeling, thinking, loving, connecting… always changing…

Changing so much and so rapidly that what I was doing and putting out in the world was becoming not relevant and outdated very quickly.

At some point, I felt that I needed just to stop and get still to figure out a few important things:

— Who am I becoming?
— Where am I moving?
— How will I be communicating?
— What do I have to offer now?

Sounds familiar? I know many of my friends and like-minded people in the same space. I’d say doing a lot of self-exploration, self-discovery and inner transformative work.

That was 2022 for me — change! The only constant this year was — impermanence!

2023 will be a year of coming out for many. We’ll see people taking new directions in life, offering new things and doing unexpected!

Is it true for you?

As for me? I don’t know yet! And believe it or not, I love it — not knowing for the first time in my life!

Tomorrow, I’m going on a trip ( possibly life-changing, or not😁) I guess, I’ll let you know later…

Happy New Year, my friends! ❤️🎉
Keep changing and evolving! There’s no limit!🙏❤️❤️❤️

BTW, what words or phrases would you choose to describe your 2022 and if you already know, your 2023!

Mine are:
2022 — Change
2023 — New Beginnings
