Absolutely LOVE Free to Feed's explanation of the variation of normal p**ps! I get lots of questions about concerning baby p**ps, but p**p alone with no other symptoms is usually not something we dig into. With symptoms- yes. With persistence- sometimes, just depends what it is. I'm ALWAYS happy to answer questions about your baby's p**p!

Just a friendly reminder that won't accept IBCLCs and that's why it's an out of pocket cost 💔 You can still use an HSA/FSA and/or try for reimbursement! They got pretty irritated with me arguing and eventually stopped responding 🙃

This is what you get with The Lactologist! Not in my area? Ask about your potential about their clinical internship (Did they have a mentor? Was it supervised? Was it in person?) and what care looks like with them. Every IBCLC is different like any other profession, so ask questions! And choose another if you aren't satisfied

Yikes, y'all. IBCLCs and the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) have had tense relations for many years and it's sad because it impacts lactation care: how it is viewed, how it is covered, and much more. This journal article is from 2016 and just being brought to my attention. Here's an excerpt: "Promoting breastfeeding as “natural” may be ethically problematic, and, even more troublingly, it may bolster this belief that “natural” approaches are presumptively healthier."

Medical and public health organizations recommend that mothers exclusively breastfeed for at least 6 months. This recommendation is based on evidence of health benefits for mothers and babies, as well as developmental benefits for babies. A spate of recent work challenges the extent of these benefit...

I'm sorry, all, for not yet revealing what the "coming soon" announcement was. In the process of creating it, a major family event happened that has commanded my full attention and put me in a very, very dark place. When I'm able, I will continue my pursuit and share it all with you. In the meantime, pray for our family as we heal and not let faith be shaken by evil that intrudes.

🤞 Sometimes you have many options and don't know who you should pick!
🫶 There are lots of considerations, but here are just a few to think about so you can decide who you think would be a good fit for you
