Motherside Motherside Midwifery provides expert prenatal, homebirth and postpartum services in Logan County, Ohio and the surrounding counties.

Dedicated to providing individualized holistic care women desire and families deserve during the childbearing years. Pregnancy and Birth is a time of transformation for women. Great healing and discovery takes place with the birth of a child, creating significant changes in a woman’s mind, body and spirit. As a doula, childbirth educator, student midwife and mother of six children I have a passion

to encourage and empower women with the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions during pregnancy and birth This passion for birth began for me at a very young age. As I began to birth my own children, I became transformed by my own ability to birth normally. My desire in helping other women experience the same was the driving force which led me to becoming a birth worker. I know firsthand what a wonderful experience and a challenge having a baby and motherhood can be. The need for gentle, compassionate support that respects a mother’s choice is essential. I have had a variety of birth experiences of my own which I believe equips me to serve my clients with compassion and understanding. As a practicing doula for 20 years, I have an array of experience with births in hospitals and at home, with natural as well as medicated births, with cesarean births and VBACs and with women who have experienced stillbirth. I am a DONA trained doula, a Certified Childbirth Educator, an experienced homebirth midwife assistant and now I'm training to become a midwife. Certified in NRP(Neonatal Resuscitation Provider) and CPR. I look forward to hearing from you and learning how I can help you have a memorable and empowering "birth day".

I'm looking for local connections for a massage therapist who enjoys working with women, especially pregnant and postpartum. I'll have space in my midwifery office starting in January for a massage therapist. I'm also interested in connecting with a CranioSacral therapist, a pelvic floor therapist, and a lactation professional. It was a beautiful day at the Statehouse in Columbus on Wednesday! Midwives, supporters and consumers all gathered to bring awareness to midwifery across the State of Ohio as well as HB 224 which will legislatively expand midwifery care option across the state. A special award was presented to the lovely midwife, Mary Cooper for her extensive work as a midwife for 46 years!

COLUMBUS -State Representative Melanie Miller (R-City of Ashland) honored a local midwife for her contribution to families and women's health during Midwives Advocacy Day at the Statehouse Wednesday.
