Thousand of Cambodian people have fled their homes, escaping from Thai military threats such as F-16s and cluster munitions. Children are now without shelter, experiencing unimaginable hardship.
Yesterday, Thailand 🇹🇭 opened fire first but falsely accused Cambodia of initiating the conflict. Cambodia's sovereignty is recognized worldwide, and there is no reason for us to start such violence.
Cambodia seeks to resolve this dispute peacefully, in accordance with international law, and urges bringing this matter to the international court. Yet, Thailand seems eager for war, believing they have superior weaponry. As we see, their actions are not limited to Cambodia; they have strained relationships with Myanmar, Malaysia, and Laos as well.
Thai people, you must stand against a small group of leaders hungry for war who send your sons to the battlefield. We, Cambodians, understand the pain of war and losing loved ones all too well.
Cambodia longs for peace! We want to develop our country and build a bright future for the next generation. War has no room in our country anymore.
I call on the United Nations, the US (which supplies F-16s to Thailand), and world leaders to intervene before more lives are lost. We are tired of war—we do not want it!
