My name is Brianna Durham and I am a personal trainer and health coach. I grew up in a family with the majority of the people being overweight and many obese. My mom was always struggling with her weight (as well as body image and confidence), trying this diet or that, only to end up right back where she started or worse. I saw the effect this had on her both mentally and physically and it made me want to learn how to help not only her, but others in the same position. From a very young age, I remember being interested in health and fitness.
When I went to college, I decided pretty early on what I wanted to study and eventually do. I wanted to become a Personal Trainer and started working towards that end. I got a Bachelor of Science in Sports & Exercise Science from Western Washington University and shortly after became a Certified Health Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine. During my 3rd year in college, I got a job at a local gym where I worked for many years.
There are many factors that affect your health and your physical activity is just one of them. There are also the factors of what you eat and your regular habits. In order to be healthy, you have to modify your lifestyle. So in order to be of more service to my clients and family, in December 2015 I got certified as a health coach through the National Society of Health Coaches.
My purpose is to help women become a healthier version of themselves as well as to minimize some of the negative impacts of chronic health conditions and medically controlled diseases by sharing information and giving both guidance and support.
