It feels nice to flip the calendar to a new month and hopefully the metaphorical April showers (the struggles of the last month) will bring May flowers (some growth and hope). Yet we'll have to grow these flowers perhaps slower than normal and begin to reach out a bit cautiously, depending on how safe it is for us individually and as a community.
Cascadia PT is now scheduling clients for in-house appointments beginning May 4th. It is required that persons entering the clinic have had zero covid-19 symptoms for the past 14 days and not been in contact with a symptomatic person for the past 14 days. We are following hand washing, surface disinfecting and mask wearing policies recommended by the CDC. Our waiting room is well designed for social distancing between clients and we ask and expect that our clients have been generally sheltering-in-place during this time.
We are looking forward to providing our attentive expertise with one-on-one physical therapy evaluation and treatment in a relaxed yet inspired setting. And check out our new website!
cascadiaphysicaltherapy.com.
We'll see you soon, as you feel confident about getting out in public a bit and we are still treating clients with tele-health appointments.
be well,
avilio

Cascadia Physical Therapy updated their website address.
We miss you all!
Tele-health appt's continue to be a great way for new patients and existing clients to connect with their therapist on clinical injury diagnosis, advice, direction for work station ergonomics and home exercise programs. Call the clinic 360-734-0222 if you'd like to set up a Zoom appt.(as easy as answering an email), otherwise we will hopefully be meeting in person at the clinic soon. Try to get some sunshine in - and stay active, mentally and physically!
We miss you all!
Peace and love y'all! We have closed the clinic doors as of this morning to encourage our community to shelter in place for now. We will reach out when we are open again. be well and take care of each other!
Thank you all for taking care of each other during these curious times and please take extra care of yourself.
Our current status at Cascadia PT is to remain open
and serving our community. We have a low-flow clinic that keeps it easy to maintain social distancing and continue to require that our clients and therapists wash, wash, sanitize, clean and disinfect and follow CDC guidelines and recommendations. We are serving clients who feel that PT is playing a strong role in their current health and wellness.
Please cancel your appt. if you are at all not feeling well or have had exposure to someone not feeling well or have other questions about self-quarantine. We are working towards keeping our most vulnerable community members safe.
This is a rapidly evolving situation and we are continually staying updated on CDC recommendations and making decisions daily for the health of our community.
Take care and love the ones you love-and others too!
Sincerely,
avilio

As a community, we are hearing alot about washing our hands and limiting community exposure and we are certainly sanitizing and disinfecting surfaces several times a day at Cascadia PT.
We are dedicated to provide a space for our clients that minimizes concern and exposure to viruses and also proud to offer a space that facilitates physical healing and works towards holistic wellness and balance. Strengthening our immune response is equally as important as minimizing our exposure.
Let us all act in ways that boost our immunity, knowing that panic and anxiety do not support the wellness of our physical and emotional systems. Our bodies come in contact with bacteria and viruses every day and usually our immune response defeats the pathogen. We can strengthen this immunity by creating a sense of balance and calm in our system by monitoring and having some control of our thought and behavior patterns.
It is important to exercise in our own appropriate capacity, walk outdoors, follow a healthy diet, be social. If we are limiting our social exposure, let's make sure to reach out to friends and family by phone and connect and share. We can create social media 'time-outs' to relax our brain from this steady stream of information that can be alarming. Please, do a little bit of what delights you every day: dance, laugh, sing, workout, cook, chat, play, be there for each other and think good thoughts. This is a recipe for wellness and immune building.
Be Well,
Sincerely,
Cascadia Physical Therapy

Happy New Year!
May your year be full with adventure and your heart full of life!

Baby, it's cold outside.
Make sure to stay hydrated during this cold weather.
64 ounces a day of water, keeps the dr. away. And... helps your skin from drying out. Drinking water keeps your blood circulating efficiently, regulates your body temperature, and keeps your muscles and organs healthy and happy!

'tis the season to be jolly!
there is a cozy nook inside the brain
in which resides our settled and determined 'chronic pain'
with no intention to leave
it rolls up its' sleeves
and plans for things to stay the same.
but humans are defined by their ability to change
we have greater aspirations than to 'just maintain'
not to guard and brace in the safety of insecurity
but to gaze outward with emboldened curiosity
it takes a sense of 'play' to stay in the game.

What's your excuse? Get out and moving, even if it's only for 10 minutes. The benefits are amazing! Your heart, mind, and body will thank you!
