Join us on Monday, February 9th for a presentation by nationally recognized professional genealogist and lecturer, Rhonda R. McClure.

We receive many questions on how to share the results of our family history research, and Rhonda's presentation, "Ten Steps to Writing and Publishing Your Family History," will give a brief overview of the key steps to help us do that.

You've worked countless hours, visited libraries and archives, sent letters via snail mail and email, interviewed family members and stayed up much too late searching online databases. You've got a computer, desktop or room (probably all!) full of information of the information you have collected on your family.

Well, it's time to share all that hardwork!

Not a member? No problem - we love having visitors attend our meetings. There is always time after the presentation to ask questions of our members, so please feel free to join us.

Our meetings are held at the Pavilion in Pioneer Park, 2007 Cherry Street in Ferndale. Doors open at 1:30 and meetings begin at 2pm. Light refreshments will be served.

VGS is thrilled to announce a fantastic *free* resource—Tracing Your Colonial Ancestors in Virginia – Maps and Tithables Lists of Botetourt County, 1770-1777. Authors Jim Jackson and Bill McCallister have generously provided this invaluable resource for anyone researching Botetourt ancestors. The book offers detailed maps correlated with tax records to reconstruct district boundaries and accurately define an ancestor's "neighborhood." View the book here: https://www.vgs.org/resources/online-resources/ (Note: The book is large so may take some time to load in the PDF browser.)

Whatcom Genealogical Society

Monthly meetings are held the 2nd Monday of the month, with breaks for summer (July, August) and January.

Meetings are held at 2pm in the lower level of the Bellingham Elks Lodge, 710 Samish Way, Bellingham, Washington.

Visitors are always welcome, but we encourage folks to join our society -- it’s only $15/yr for 9+ hours of genealogy education and fun! And you don’t need to have family history in Whatcom County -- most of our members have research interests all over the United States and beyond.
