Belpre Safetytown

Belpre Safetytown Belpre Safetytown offers a comprehensive program of safety training for area children in the MOV. At the heart of the program is the curriculum.

A professionally sound educational experience is used to give each child an opportunity to learn through participation, demonstration, and practice. Children learn from professional licensed teachers and well-trained instructors. The Belpre Safetytown program is two-fold. First, in a classroom setting, different safety rules are introduced daily along with guest speakers who help explain and enfor

ce the daily safety rules. Field trips to local safety partners are also utilized to give every student a real-life experience. Safety around the home is most important so children are taught to identify and avoid dangerous objects such as electrical appliances and chemicals with special emphasis on the dangers in and out of the medicine cabinet. Safety around pets and other animals will be covered. Each child will learn that he/she has many safety friends. Police officers, firefighters, bus drivers, doctors, Coast Guard officials, and representatives from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources will interact with the children on a one to one basis. The children will learn why some of these people wear uniforms and about the equipment, they use to help keep us safe. Next, a miniature town complete with streets, sidewalks, buildings, and traffic devices make for a life-like area where the children can practice what they are taught each day. Each child will learn to identify and obey traffic safety devices. Safe automobile and passenger behavior will be demonstrated and practiced by each child. Through craft sessions, classroom work, role-play, and field trips, Belpre Safetytown students are much better prepared to meet and deal with the safety decisions they will confront on a daily basis.

🚦 Belpre Safetytown Day 8 Recap🚦

Today’s safety rule was “Stop, Look, and Listen” — and our students put it into action during our annual Safety Walk from Belpre Elementary to Washington Blvd! They practiced crossing safely at the traffic lights and showed off everything they've learned over the past two weeks.

During snack time, the fun continued with a sweet hands-on activity — the kids made their own edible traffic lights*l using graham crackers, icing, and M&M’s. They were both creative and delicious! 😋

🎓 Don’t forget! Our Safetytown Graduation will take place tomorrow at 9:15 AM at Belpre Elementary. We are so proud of our students and all they’ve accomplished during this exciting and educational journey. Way to go, future safety stars! 🌟

Today was absolutely blazing with excitement as we learned some of the most important safety rules yet: Know Two Ways Out and Stop, Drop, and Roll!

Our Safetytown crew took a special trip to the Belpre Volunteer Fire Department, where the kids got an up-close look at the world of firefighting. 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒 Huge thanks to Kevin Pierson and Ethan McAtee for being our amazing firefighter guides! The children got to try on real gear, climb aboard the fire trucks, and even spray the fire hose—what an unforgettable experience! 💦🚒

We’re so grateful to our local heroes for teaching our students how to stay safe and for making today such a fun and educational adventure. It was a jam-packed day full of learning, laughter, and lots of water!

Stay safe and we’ll see you tomorrow for our final day of Safetytown! 🛑👧🧑‍🚒💛

🚦 Belpre Safety Town – Day 6 Recap!🚦

Today was all about staying safe in the world around us — and we had a blast while learning! 🎉

Our two big rules for the day were:
❌ “Say NO to Strangers”
🚴‍♂️ “Always Wear Your Helmet”

We had some amazing guest visitors to help bring these lessons to life:
🐻 Qdoba Bear stopped by to help the kids practice stranger danger in a fun and engaging way. They loved getting involved and learning how to stay safe around people they don’t know!
🚲 Mike and Johnny Miller gave a fantastic bike safety demo, teaching our kids the importance of wearing a helmet and how to ride smart.

Thank you to our guests for making learning safety such a fun experience — and to our awesome Safetytown kids for being such great listeners and participants! 💛
