Hello!

I’ve done this sort of thing before - hosting fundraisers for other people in order to help raise funds for medical bills or teams. This is another one that hits super close to home for me.

David, is a boy who I grew up alongside and is from a family I have known for over 10 years now. His family has been there for me more times than I can count.

Recently he was diagnosed with aplastic anemia. He has been hospitalized over the course of the last few months since he was diagnosed, This disease is rare and life threatening. He receives transfusions weekly, both platelet and blood. David has missed the last few weeks of this most recent school year and will miss the new school year as he’s severely immunocompromised.

Thankfully, there is a way to help in terms of treatment and his eldest sister is a match for bone marrow. This treatment for david will include chemotherapy, rATG, and the transplant of bone marrow.

So that david doesn’t have to be alone, his mother quit her job. Currently the family is living on one income while also covering medical bills, gas to and from the hospital, and other costs. David will soon be transferred to Philly where he will be receiving additional treatment which can be weeks to months long.

The madalena family has always been super involved in their community, always giving back without batting an eye. It’s our turn to help them in their time of need.

So here’s how you can help: down below I have linked their go fund me page. You can donate there directly or you can purchase something from me and I will send proceeds to them. Whether that be a dozen cookies, mini cakes, or a custom sweatshirt, 20% of my proceeds will go right to them. If you can’t afford to purchase or simply want to help boost my engagement so someone who can/is looking to make a purchase can do so, please help by sharing.

A HUGE thank you to Kean University’s Dance Club for letting me do yet another order of apparel for not only the dancers, but parents and friends as well. This merch fundraiser brought them in almost $600 which they will use for their competitions and other expenses.
