The two best guys I know had birthdays this week! I couldn’t love them both more!

They look similar, are both fiercely loyal to their people, they both are intuitive and kind, both love the Cowboys and will spend 100s hours throwing the football.

They are also so different and balance out our family so much! Ryan is our strength and stability and McClain is our constant source of entertainment.

🌺 F I F T E E N 🌺
I can’t get over it. Words will never be able to describe how much I love being her mom. As we sat around the dinner table calling out the beautiful things we see in her there were SO many things. The tween years were spicy but these last two have been so amazing to watch her grow and thrive. She seeks wisdom and seeks the Lord way more than I did at her age and it’s amazing to see how they play out in her life. She is 3/4 an inch from being twin heights with me, close to getting her hardship and driving, and has her next 3 years mapped out to impact the college 4. I will be cherishing and squeezing in all the time and moments I can have with her! Happy Birthday to our Addy Joy.

New Zealand Week 1 -

Words cannot describe the gift it has been to bring my kids back to my birthplace and significant part of my childhood. It is even more beautiful as an adult and our crazy adventures will be memories I forever cherish!

We arrived Christmas morning and got to spend time celebrating with my brother and his family! My niece got her have her first sleepover at our “holiday house”. We love our hilarious nieces!

We have gone to two hot pools and a body of water every day. We have hiked to two waterfalls and the girls and my mom hiked Mt Manganui. We have gone down the hill in the luge, zip lined and hiked through the redwoods and survived the speed boat at huka falls. We canoed at night to see the glowworms and today my 4 are white water rafting as I write this!

My favorite thing was getting to have my McClain meet the people he was named after! It was such a special afternoon I will always cherish as my past and present united in a beautiful way.

Here’s to hoping the next week will be just as amazing!!

The -BER months: A collection

Not limited too but including - Volleyball x2, basketball x2, flag football - with a championship and MVP trophy, , Plano travels, date nights, benson boone concert, advent calendar, adventures with Murph and even though this stage is packed it’s a answered prayer and dream come true!

Our Emery Faith is officially a teenager after claiming to be one for years now 😎 We couldn’t be more proud of her kind spirit, grit, determination, confidence and desire to always be growing! We are forever thankful she is ours!!

She loves amazing food, shopping and is always ready for photoshoot so we did all of things tonight!!

The last couple weeks we got asked “Are you excited to start school?” For team Looney it is always a resounding NO. We are summer forever, slow mornings, kids over, late light snuggles kinda fam. We love being together and love the unstructured life we get to have during the summer. This year is big year with a high schooler, junior higher and middle schooler. We are excited for them and this school year but already have a countdown to Christmas break 😆

This is 40! After the last two years every birthday feels like the greatest gift. Another year, another decade by the grace of God! I feel overwhelming grateful to just be. Be known, be loved, be cherished, be mom to teens and tween, be fully living even if the constraints are different than before!!

We are exploring the Northern California coast this week to celebrate with Ryan and my heart could not be more full!

In closing 2023 - it was still a hibernation year for me of sorts. I still had lots of bed days at the beginning of the year and sprinkled throughout the rest. I still get sad with how much trips, events, games I missed. But there was SO much good, beauty and memories every month. I had way more captures of heart filled moments than just 10 squares. I cannot WAIT for a new year, new vision, new memories waiting around the bend!

PS: I also read 142 books so will always have recs 😅🤓
