Classes are taught in the vinyasa flow style which links breath with movement. You can find out where, when and how often I am teaching here.

Mi familia, my heart. They are everything and I am so grateful for each of them. How lucky I am. Don’t be fooled by the smiles all around though. We are all human, we have good days and bad days and everything in between. Each of them is perfect imperfection and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We are walking each other through this life that can sometimes be treacherous and just straight up confusing. How lucky I am.❤️

I’ve told this story many times but when I first walked through the open house(for our future home)with my mom and Leila 9 1/2 years ago I thought it was precious. Such a sweet little house. I walked through in two minutes and came out and told my mom ‘It’s precious but it’s too small.’ Of course we ended up buying the house and making do with much less space than we thought we needed. We have loved our home so, so much and now it’s finally as big as we thought it should be. It is our little oasis, our secret garden, it’s still not quite done but here’s what it looks like with brand new shingles and a new color palette.

This last 7 months I have been focusing on getting stronger and focusing way less on flexibility which means less yoga. Most days I’ll do some kind of cardio/weight training - even on vacation. I am sweating it up here on one of my last days at ‘The Lake.’

Thanks for the amazing workouts and getting me out of my yoga comfort zone. I feel stronger than ever - and still flexible!

Dreams are funny things. They are wonderful. They help us to set goals and have something to look forward to. They can also hold us back from living in the present moment, from enjoying what is right now. As always there is this healthy balance we want to cultivate. Can we set goals without overlooking the beauty of now? When I was a little girl I dreamed of going to college. I dreamed of being a mother. I dreamed of being a teacher. Whenever anyone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would say teacher. …

Flashback to 1994. I had just graduated from college, moved to Virginia and as I said had a miscarriage. I was substitute teaching and within a month of my miscarriage I had a contract to teach at the most amazing public school for the Fall. I switched gears from mother to teacher. It was hard to find a teaching job back then and I felt like I had proven myself. They wanted me! I was the first college graduate in my immediate family and I was going to teach at a school full of mostly first generation children just like myself. Many children whose first language was also Spanish. I had always dreamed of being a teacher. I couldn’t believe I was fulfilling this dream. Everyday I would go to work and feel inspired by the children, by my fellow teachers, by the amazing school. Those years teaching were absolute joy. I went to ‘work’ and knew I was in the right place. I had planned for this since I was in elementary school and now here I was, living my dream….

My house is still broken. Well it’s broken on purpose and it’s on its way to being fixed better than ever. It takes time though and the last several weeks have been about waterproofing our soon to be new foundation.

Several experts had to be called in which of course meant more $. It’s like a true HGTV show, right?

We’ve always known we had a water problem in the basement so we want to make sure it’s done right and are looking forward to a dry basement regardless of whether the neighbors are watering their plants.
