On January 1st, 2026, supporters of the 32nd Annual Penguin Swim - Atlantic General Hospital braved 41° water temperatures and a "feels like" outdoor temperature of 28° to wash away 2025 and ring in the new year with a fresh start.

With over 850 registered swimmers, some travelling from as far as British Columbia, the swim was a major success and donors helped to secure the goal, and beyond! This year, The Penguin Swim, through commercial and private donors and participants in the swim exceeded the initial goal of $120,000 and raised over $131,000 benefitting the Atlantic General Health System.

This event represents community, tradition, and unity, and we are excited to see everyone next year at the 33rd Annual Penguin Swim! Thank you to everyone who was involved for ringing in the new year with us.

Leave the staying up all night to Santa! Quality sleep — and getting enough of it at the right times — is as essential for your body as food and water. Give the excitement of the holiday season a break and give your body and mind the gift of a good night’s rest.
