Atlantic General Hospital Official Page of Atlantic General Hospital From ocean air to traditional values, you have a lot of reasons to be glad that you live here.

Atlantic General Hospital has been providing quality health care to the residents of Worcester, Wicomico, Somerset and Sussex Counties since May 1993. Built by the commitment and generosity of a dedicated community, our state-of-the-art facility in Berlin, Maryland, combines old-fashioned personal attention with the latest in technology and services. Atlantic General is another. Atlantic General is proud to provide access to the kind of healthcare you want access to for yourself and your family. And you don't have the headache and worry of a long distance drive to take advantage of it. The scope of our programs, the qualifications of our medical staff, and the quality of our facilities and equipment are unmatched in our service area on the lower Eastern Shore of Delmarva. We serve communities in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. From our hospital and medical complex to our regional network of clinics and related medical services, ours is the most advanced healthcare system in the area. Now you have a choice: Whether you need a routine examination or a high-tech surgery, you can have it done minutes – not miles – from home.

Thank you to the Jarman family for supporting Brooke's Toy Closet at our hospital!

Extending a heartfelt thank you to the Jarman family for their generosity at Atlantic General Hospital. 💙

With the helping hands of their children, the Jarman family stocked Brooke’s Toy Closet, ensuring young patients have comfort and a little joy during their hospital stay.

Seeing children help children makes this gift especially meaningful, and we are truly grateful for their kindness and generosity.

Moments like these remind us how powerful family-led giving can be.

On January 1st, 2026, supporters of the 32nd Annual Penguin Swim - Atlantic General Hospital braved 41° water temperatures and a "feels like" outdoor temperature of 28° to wash away 2025 and ring in the new year with a fresh start.

With over 850 registered swimmers, some travelling from as far as British Columbia, the swim was a major success and donors helped to secure the goal, and beyond! This year, The Penguin Swim, through commercial and private donors and participants in the swim exceeded the initial goal of $120,000 and raised over $131,000 benefitting the Atlantic General Health System.

This event represents community, tradition, and unity, and we are excited to see everyone next year at the 33rd Annual Penguin Swim! Thank you to everyone who was involved for ringing in the new year with us.
