We at RAPS are huge advocates for engaging proactive approaches to first responder mental health. We are also passionate about reminding our active and retired ranks to apply that same preventative mindset toward their PHYSICAL health. Here are some shocking statistics illustrating how a common, manageable condition can snowball into a major health crisis.

A great way to avoid creating vicarious trauma is to address issues before they “go critical”. Remember that holistic wellness needs to actually be holistic.

As a retired police officer who dispatched after my injury, I can honestly say that dispatchers have an incredibly difficult job. They hear people on their worst days, they keep officers safe, they rarely get any completeness to the stories that they played a first hand role in all while remaining calm and professional on the phone and radio. They are most assuredly unsung heroes!! 🦸‍♀️ HAPPY TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK!!!🖤💛🖤
