Hot take:
Feeling like yourself again isnât vanity.
Itâs healthcare.
I do bioidentical hormone therapy, and Iâm not ashamed to say it publicly because I know firsthand how much hormones impact a womanâs quality of life.
Sleep.
Mood.
Energy.
Recovery.
Libido.
Mental clarity.
Body composition.
Even the ability to keep up with the life youâve built.
Right now, my personal protocol includes testosterone, progesterone, and thyroid medication, all monitored through consistent lab work every 3â6 months.
And that monitoring matters.
One thing I explain to women all the time is this:
Hormones are not static.
Especially during perimenopause.
A womanâs body can shift month to month based on stress, sleep, inflammation, nutrition, thyroid function, cortisol, aging, and overall lifestyle. Thatâs why I donât believe in cookie-cutter hormone therapy or blindly placing pellets and hoping for the best.
Personally, I prefer protocols that can be adjusted thoughtfully and safely over time.
Because if something feels off, I want the ability to pivot with the patient, not wait months for something to wear off.
For me, hormone optimization was never about chasing perfection.
It was about feeling functional again.
Feeling present again.
Feeling strong enough to maintain the lifestyle, career, motherhood, fitness, and responsibilities Iâve worked hard to build.
And honestly?
Too many women are told their labs are ânormalâ while they silently feel exhausted, foggy, inflamed, anxious, disconnected, and unlike themselves.
Normal and optimal are not the same thing.
If youâve been wondering whether your symptoms deserve a deeper conversation, maybe they do.
Hormone therapy should never be trendy.
It should be individualized, monitored, and medically guided.
