As a therapist myself, I see it all the time...

Fears, worry, and shame — all revolving around an individual's mental health.

But advocating for yourself is the most important step when it comes to receiving proper care. After all, no one understands your unique experience the way you do.

In my latest blog, I share 5 tips to make the process easier.

From preparing for your upcoming appointment to leaning on your support system for help, there are simple ways to get your questions answered, your concerns addressed, and the help you need.

We’ve all been there… You’re at your doctor’s appointment when the physician asks: “Do you have anything specific you’d like to discuss today?” You don’t know what it is exactly, but something about the situation makes you freeze. Even if you came with a list of questions, bringing t...

The holidays are supposed to be one of the happiest times of the year. ✨

But for parents attempting to heal from an infant loss or miscarriage, this season can be incredibly painful.

So, as a friend or family member, how can you lighten the load of a grieving parent?

First and foremost, say something.

Even if you feel awkward or worried about saying the wrong thing, saying something is better than saying nothing at all.

(Trust me, this simple gesture of remembrance will mean more than you'll ever know.)

From there, you can show up by:

🤍 Reaching out, especially when others have stopped

🤍 Remembering important dates like birth dates, due dates, and loss dates

🤍 Helping your loved ones get the added support they may need

And for more information about how you can help both now and all year-round, check out my latest blog

The holidays are one of the happiest times of the year. But for parents grieving an infant loss or miscarriage, it can also be incredibly painful. From holiday music on the radio to unpacking ornaments and keepsakes, the sentimentality of the season can bring on pounding waves of

Did you know???

In the U.S. alone...

👉 Roughly 70% to 80% of new moms will go through the "baby blues."

👉 1 in 7 women experiences the more severe symptoms associated with postpartum depression.

But, that's not all. Reports show that somewhere between 2–25% of new fathers experience some level of paternal depression, as well.

These numbers are vague for a reason — men have historically been left out of the conversations surrounding parenthood and depression.

But that doesn't mean what they're going through is any less real.

In my latest blog, I shed some light on the risk factors and symptoms surrounding paternal depression and share my tips for getting the support you need.

Whether you’ve experienced it firsthand or not, most of us are familiar with the reality of postpartum depression. In the United States alone, roughly 70% to 80% of women will experience the “baby blues,” with 1 in 7 women reporting the more

Some days are rough.

Sometimes it's a whole week or month.

And sometimes, if you've lived through something like 2020 and the first part of 2021, you know hard times can last for years on end. 😕

But while the past 19 months have brought grief, stress, depression, and anxiety, there's a collective feeling of "we're all in this together."

In other words, you may not be okay, but neither is anyone else.

But, here's the thing: Just because it's a shared experience doesn't mean we have to accept it.

There are steps you can take, especially as we head into the dreary, dark months, that can help. 🥶

To help you live a happy, healthier life this winter — and beyond — I've put together 5 simple strategies in my latest blog.

Fact 1️⃣ : Every new mother, no matter the circumstances, feels overwhelmed.

(Period. End of story.)

Fact 2️⃣ : As mothers, we feel overwhelmed not because we're not cut out for it. We feel overwhelmed because it's hard.

(Really, really hard.)

Whether you're a new mom or not is irrelevant; the pressure of it all can be paralyzing regardless!

So, is there a way to better manage when you're feeling overwhelmed and on the verge of shutting down?

Absolutely YES — and the strategy is pretty simple. 👏

I recommend regaining control of the situation by taking the time to really look at what you need to do on a day-to-day basis, and them making a better plan for the future.

In my new blog, I share my simple 5-step strategy that only requires a pen, some paper, and a little help from your trusted support system.

(They want to help, so let them!)

There's no time like the present to start managing these feelings. Trust me, your future self will thank you.

Before we get into the bulk of this blog, I want to start with two simple statements that are indisputably true. Fact #1: Every new mother, no matter the circumstances, feels overwhelmed. (Period. End of story.) Fact #2: As mothers, we feel overwhelmed not because we’re not cut out for it. We feel...

If you're a parent, you've been there.

You know, the regrettable moments when you act — or react — in a way that you wish you could take back.

Maybe you snapped after a harmless accident or said you were going to do something with your child and then failed to follow through. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Whatever the specifics, those mistakes are never fun to live through.

But I'd argue they're essential for teaching our kids that nobody is perfect — not even their parents. 😊

In my latest blog, I discuss how you can embrace those and use them to teach your child five very important life lessons.

Ready to check them out and give yourself a little grace in the process?

The struggle with mom guilt is real, my friends.

From the moment you conceive (or decide to adopt, foster, or become a parent via surrogacy), the prospect of raising a child can bring on this overwhelming feeling of "not good enough" — and it's hard to shake.

But here’s the thing: While mom guilt is incredibly common, it’s not something you have to just accept.

By understanding what it is and where it comes from, you can identify strategies to better manage the symptoms.

In my latest blog, I explore this topic deeper and offer my advice for alleviating the guilt and giving yourself some much-needed grace during the emotional roller coaster that is parenthood. 🎢

Motherhood. It’s an experience with extreme highs and super-low lows. In other words, a relentless roller coaster of emotions. These peaks and valleys can make motherhood simultaneously feel like the most wonderful experience in the entire world and also one of the hardest. From the moment
