The best part of being an Endocrinologist is listening to and hearing my patients, to develop a treatment plan that works to improve their health and wellbeing. The worst part is dealing with insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies denying my patients their needed treatments and tests. After 25 years of practice, I’m making a switch to fight for my patients at the state house in addition
to the examination room. In the decade that I’ve lived in the Quad Cities, I’ve been impressed with the morals, family values, and safety that families enjoy. Our quiet and safe schools and neighborhoods are under assault and we are being cheated of our rights to great public education and quality accessible healthcare. Iowa stays great with a strong community focus: public schools need full funding, and teachers and health professionals need our support so our kids can get opportunities to grow and thrive. Like a body, Des Moines has been starving Iowa of oxygen and nutrition while ignoring Iowa’s deteriorating health. We need a voice to stand up for all of us who have been left behind or ignored when all we would like is to protect those we love and live in safety and peace. Join us in improving Iowa's health and wellbeing by promoting our rights as Iowans to raise our kids and live our lives free of the interference and with our communities intact and safe for us all.
