Eternal bonds are formed in childhood. We try to teach our youngest these lessons. Today, we are so guarded with our time together with each other and our children. When I was engrossed in my training and educational pursuits that separated me for hours and sometimes even days from my family, I never appreciated what giving my time and all my focus to being a urogynecologist was asking me to give up. As women, have we figured out how to hold on to dreams and hold on to our family?

Many women have asked me why I perform Labiaplasty surgery. We all recognize that every l***a and va**na is unique and that one size fits all couldn’t be more untrue. Many women have disproportionate l***a, when one is significantly larger than the other that can get caught during intimacy, resulting in discomfort or pain vs pleasure. Others seek a trimmer appearance to improve their confidence with their partner or to restore their confidence after changes from childbirth or aging. I have a practice where women seek my care for a concern about their l***a that they’ve held for many, many years, ALONE. Most have been afraid to talk to anyone about these concerns and the internet has served as their main outlet of finding hope by googling information about their problem. The l***a and va**na are important. The l***a and va**na are the center of our feminine selves. It houses our feminine energy that gives so much. Life begins there. Women should never feel shame to want to care for the most intimate parts of themselves. As a female urogynecologist and intimate cosmetic surgeon, I want to encourage all women to feel safe and supported in talking about va**nas, l***as, or any part of their body without fear of judgement. I hope by this post, I can help at least one woman feel comfortable to ask, to talk, to give to an area of women’s health and well-being a voice that has long been silenced.

About Us

Dr. Alexis May Tran Kimble is Medical Director of Women’s Center for Pelvic Wellness. She is among the few women in the country who has dedicated her entire life to caring for women. Her lifelong passion for improving the quality of life for every woman began early in her career. She has developed programs for the less privileged, personally developed a not-for-profit organization solely to help women in need, and began to change the course of countless women’s lives in Southern California. Her belief that all women are “beautiful from the inside out” is something that resonates throughout the Center’s practice.

Dr. David M. Kimble is the CEO of Women’s Center for Pelvic Wellness. He comes to Southern California after caring for thousands of women in New York for over two decades. His entire career has been dedicated to advancing the care of women, dramatically improving their quality of life.

Whenever asked, Dr. Kimble freely expresses that he is privileged to share his work and home life with his wonderful wife. Above all, working alongside her has been his greatest honor.
