🥇The BookFest Award A sexual and domestic violence survivor herself, BB confronted and overcame her traumatic experiences through storytelling, and by turning her trauma narra

tive into case studies to therapize herself throughout the completion of her undergraduate and graduate degrees: BA (Gerontology), BSW (Social Work), MSW (Master of Social Work with a clinical specialization), and a minor in Women Studies. She wrote and rewrote, read and reread, each time adding more detail, until it became easier to write, read, and eventually share. Sharing her story has helped BB reprocess her experience of sexual and domestic violence from a safe place, gifting her mastery and control over her traumatic past.

Lisa and I were at the same event, moving through the same space, and somehow… we never met.
I was there with my book on domestic violence (No Ordinary Love by BB Gabriel)�She was there for her podcast (Sunshine Secret of OC Podcast)
Two very different paths, in the same place at the same time.
And yet, it wasn’t until after the event that we connected.
And when we did, something clicked.
We realized that beyond why we were each there that day, our work actually speaks to each other in a much deeper way.
She has written about sparking joy back into your life (Choosing Positivity: 35 Ways to Spark Joy Into Your Life)… something that feels so meaningful in the world of grief and loss.
And I’ve written about grief and continuing bonds (We’ll Meet You by BB Gabriel (human death grief)
I’ll Meet You by BB Gabriel (pet-loss grief)… something that resonates deeply with her clairvoyant work and the idea that connection doesn’t end.
It felt too aligned to be coincidence.
I can’t help but feel like my sister Bryanne had something to do with it.�A quiet nudge. A little behind-the-scenes orchestration.
Because sometimes the connections we’re meant to make don’t happen when or where we expect…�but they find us anyway.
And maybe this is just the beginning.�A shared conversation. A future collaboration. Maybe even a podcast… if Bryanne has a say in it.
