Certified Health Coach: www.empowHERdwellness.com I am a multifaceted rural entrepreneur, a fifth-generation RanchHer, and proud to carry on the legacy of strong women in agriculture. My family and I raise draft-cross horses, and I am an enrolled member of the Oglala Lakota Sioux Tribe from Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Honoring my heritage, preserving ranch life, and celebrating the role of women in agriculture are at the heart of what I do. My personal journey has been one of transformation - I lost over 100 pounds and have kept it off for nearly two years. That experience fueled my passion for helping other women step into their best selves. As a certified health coach, I now guide women toward healthier, happier, and more confident lives through sustainable habits and mindset shifts. The Native Cowgirl is more than just a brand - it’s a lifestyle rooted in grit, growth, and gratitude. Whether I’m sharing the daily rhythms of ranch life, health tips, or motivational stories, my mission is to empower and uplift women everywhere. Some days it would be easier to quit.

To slow down.
To make excuses.
To take the softer road.

But easy never built strong women.

Easy never built a ranch.
Easy never built character.
Easy never built a life you’re proud to stand in.

Determination does.

Getting up when you’re tired.
Showing up when no one is clapping.
Doing the work when nobody’s watching.

Digging deep when it would feel better to walk away.

Be a woman of your word.
Do what you said you’d do.
Keep the promises you made to yourself.

Put your blinders on and focus.
Shut out the noise.
Stop looking left and right to see what everyone else is doing.

This is your path. Your life. Your one shot.

Act like it.

Try hard.
Stay gritty.
Finish what you start.
Never quit on yourself.

That’s cowgirl strength. That’s legacy. That’s how we rise.

You won’t always feel like doing it.
Do it anyway.

You won’t always feel motivated.
Show up anyway.

Some days you’ll be tired.
Some days you’ll doubt yourself.
Some days it feels like nobody notices how hard you’re trying…

Work harder anyway.

Because here’s the truth most people don’t say out loud…

Nobody is coming to save you.
Nobody is going to hand you your dreams.
Nobody cares about your goals as much as you do.

That might sound harsh…but it’s also freedom.

It means it’s in your hands.
Your grit.
Your discipline.
Your heart.

Out here on the ranch, animals still need fed when it’s cold.
Fences still need fixed when it’s windy.
Horses still need rode when you’re sore.

Life doesn’t wait for feelings.
So we build strength instead.

Not because it’s easy…
But because we’re cowgirls.

And cowgirls show up. Every. Single. Time.

If you’re in a season where it feels heavy, keep going.
Quiet work still counts.
Small steps still matter.
Consistency beats motivation every day.

You’re stronger than you think.

Sometimes I stand at my kitchen window with a warm cup of coffee and just watch the world wake up.

The horses moving slow through the pasture.
The sky stretching pink over the hills.
The quiet before the day begins.

And it reminds me of something I’ve heard of called the Kitchen Window Theory.

Life looks different depending on the window you choose to look through.

From one window you see problems.
From another you see possibilities.
From another you see gratitude.

Same ranch. Same day. Same life.
Different view.

It is easy to focus on what is broken, busy, or overwhelming. I have done that too. We all have. But when I slow down and stand still long enough to really look…everything shifts.

I see blessings.
I see lessons.
I see how far God has already carried me.

Your mindset is your window.

If you rush past life, you miss it.
If you complain through it, you darken it.
If you pause and breathe it in…you brighten it.

Sometimes healing is not a big grand plan.

Sometimes it is just standing at the kitchen window…watching the horses…remembering who you are…and choosing gratitude.

Today, choose the window that lets the light in.

Your life is full. Your days are long. Your heart carries a lot.
That doesn’t make you weak…it makes you human.

But here’s the beautiful truth:
Even in the busy.
Even in the tired.
Even in the seasons where everything feels heavy…

You still get to choose.

You can choose progress over perfection.
You can choose showing up instead of sitting it out.
You can choose one small step that moves you forward.

Winners aren’t born different.
They simply decide, again and again, to find a way…even when it’s not easy.

And if you’re reading this, you already have what it takes.

Choose who you are becoming.
Choose growth.
Choose yourself.

Life isn’t fair…and it was never promised to be easy.
But hear this clearly: you are very capable.

Never give up.
Keep going.
Do your best, even on the hard days.

Stop complaining. Stop blaming others.
That only gives your power away.

Own your story.
Stand in your strength.
If you can see it and believe it, you can achieve it.

You’ve got this. Always have.

She stands in the smoke…
not because life was gentle,
but because she was strong enough to rise anyway.

Your softness still exists.
Your heart still feels.
Your spirit still aches at times.

And still…you are powerful.

Strong enough to breathe through uncertainty.
Strong enough to carry what feels heavy right now.
Strong enough to keep going, even when no one sees the battle.

Whatever is challenging you in this moment…
you were built to move through it, not break beneath it.

Stand tall.
You are stronger than you think.

In a world full of filters, highlight reels, and noise, choose to be real.

Be the woman who knows herself…who loves herself enough to grow, and respects herself enough to stay true. Not chasing approval. Not shrinking to fit. Not pretending to be something she’s not.

Push yourself, not to be perfect, but to be better than yesterday. Better in how you speak to yourself. Better in how you show up. Better in how you honor your goals, your values, and your dreams.

The real ones keep going even when it’s hard. They hold the line when it would be easier to quit. They stay rooted in who they are while the world tries to pull them in every direction.

Strive to be the best you can be…not for applause, but for alignment. When you live in truth, when you move with intention, when you stand firm in your purpose…that’s power.

Stay real. Stay driven. Stay you.

Grit isn’t loud.
It doesn’t beg for applause.
It shows up when no one is watching…and does the hard thing anyway.

Determination is choosing to keep going when it would be easier to quit.
It’s early mornings, tired bones, dirt under your nails, and a heart that refuses to fold.

Doing hard things builds something no one can ever take from you…
Confidence.
Self-respect.
Pride.

You don’t have to prove anything to the world.
You just have to make yourself proud.

And when you do…that pride runs deeper than success ever could.

Stand tall.
Dig deep.
Do the hard thing.

20/01/2026

There is a kind of strength that doesn’t announce itself.

It doesn’t post its wins.
It doesn’t ask for applause.
It doesn’t explain how hard the road has been.

It just keeps going.

Quiet strength is getting up when your heart is heavy and your body is tired.
It’s choosing to move forward when stopping would be easier.
It’s holding the line when no one is watching and no one is cheering.

It’s the woman who keeps showing up even when she feels unseen.
The one who carries grief, responsibility, disappointment, and hope all at once.
The one who refuses to quit…even on the days she barely believes in herself.

That strength is built in the early mornings.
In the silent prayers.
In the long nights where tears fall and resolve rises anyway.

You don’t need recognition to be powerful.
You don’t need permission to persevere.
You don’t need to prove anything to anyone.

If you are still standing.
If you are still trying.
If you are still choosing forward…

That is strength.
That is resilience.
That is courage.

And it matters.

19/01/2026

Some days the trail is smooth.
Other days it’s rutted, muddy, and full of unexpected turns.

Staying focused on your goals isn’t about everything going perfectly. It’s about choosing to keep going when life throws a curveball you didn’t see coming. It’s about remembering why you started…even when the road feels heavy and the detours feel unfair.

There will be days when motivation fades. Days when doubt gets loud. Days when it would be easier to hand over the reins and let circumstances decide for you.

But here’s the truth…you are still in the driver’s seat.

You get to decide how you respond.
You get to choose whether you slow down, adjust your grip, and keep moving forward.
You get to follow through, even when it’s hard, because your dreams are worth the discipline it takes to reach them.

Progress isn’t always loud or fast. Sometimes it’s quiet consistency. One step. One choice. One reminder that you are capable, resilient, and in control of where you’re headed.

Hold the reins steady. Eyes forward. Heart grounded.
You’ve got places to go.

Who is The Native Cowgirl?

My name is Cheyenne Glade Wilson and I am “The Native Cowgirl”. I am a fifth generation rancher with an intense love of horses and cattle. My husband, son, and I own and operate the Lazy Six Nine Ranch. We run a Black Angus commercial cow herd and we raise half-draft horses. I am also an enrolled member of the Oglala Lakota Sioux tribe. My family and I reside on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

I consider myself a creative artist because I love to express myself through different mediums (photography, writing, silversmithing). I am also a fifth generation cattle rancher. I am a proud enrolled member of the Oglala Lakota Sioux tribe. My family and I reside on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

I strive daily to share the beauty of life around us, spread positivity, and increase awareness of modern day ranching. I love perpetuating the role of women in agriculture through my social media outlets and blog. Come along with me daily on my journey!
