Moms Without Capes Discover Practical Solutions for Reclaiming your Sense of Self Beyond Motherhood: www.themwcpodcast.com
(1)

I am a licensed therapist, a life and wellness coach, and a mom of 6 who knows first hand how busy motherhood can be! I put myself last for years and it left me feeling depressed, burned out, and like I was failing as a mom. Using my own experience, education, and expertise, I now coach other moms who are struggling with Super-Mom Syndrome to learn how to put themselves on their own to-do list and fall in love with the woman underneath!

Taking care of your mental health as a mom doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

In fact, small, consistent shifts can make a big difference. Here are a few ways to protect your peace and show up for yourself, not just your people:

🌿 Start your day with intention
Even five quiet minutes to breathe, pray, stretch, or journal before the chaos begins can help you feel centered.

🚫 Say no (without guilt)
Every “no” to something draining is a “yes” to your wellbeing. Practice protecting your time and energy.

🧠 Challenge the negative self-talk
Would you speak to a friend the way you speak to yourself? Notice your inner voice and give it a gentler tone.

📲 Take a scroll break
Limit social media when you’re feeling anxious or depleted. It’s okay to disconnect to reconnect with yourself.

🫶 Ask for help
You don’t have to carry it all alone. Talk to your partner. Delegate. And yes - therapy counts, too.

🛏️ Rest is productive
Your brain and body need breaks. It’s not lazy. It’s necessary.

You’re allowed to take care of your mental health, not just survive the days. In fact, your family benefits more when you do.

Which one of these do you want to work on this week?

Not everyone’s going to like your boundaries… and that’s okay.

Setting limits with family isn’t about being mean — it’s about protecting your peace and honoring your needs. 💛

Start small. Stay consistent. And remember — every “no” makes more space for what truly matters.

✨ Hear more about setting boundaries with family in this week’s Moms Without Capes Podcast and blog post!

Do you ever leave a family gathering feeling completely drained?
If so, it might be time to look at your boundaries.

Here are two ways to start protecting your peace with family (without guilt):

1️⃣ Get clear on your limits.
Notice which interactions leave you feeling anxious, resentful, or exhausted. That’s usually your cue that a boundary needs to be set.

2️⃣ Communicate calmly and clearly.
Use “I” statements like: “I feel overwhelmed when visits are unplanned. I need at least a day’s notice.”

You don’t have to overexplain - just state what you need with kindness and consistency. Clear is kind!

💬 Boundaries aren’t about shutting people out. They’re about creating relationships where you can still be you.

To hear more about how to set healthy boundaries with family (and why it’s essential for your mental health), check out this week’s Moms Without Capes Podcast episode and the blog post linked below.

Flourish: A Women’s Financial Wellness Group

Money stress runs deeper than just dollars and cents - it often carries guilt, shame, and anxiety. That’s where financial therapy comes in. It blends financial planning with emotional and psychological support so you can finally heal your relationship with money.

Feeling yourself start to resent your partner? You’re NOT alone.

No one prepares you for how isolating and overwhelming early motherhood can feel. You’re exhausted, you’re on duty 24/7, and suddenly the person who used to be your rock starts to feel like just one more person you’re taking care of.

You love your baby, you love your partner but you’re tired, touched‑out, and resentful.

He comes home and seems calm. You haven’t had a minute to yourself all day. You’re still feeding, changing, cleaning, and he gets to sit down, scroll, or “take a break.” Inside, you’re thinking: “I didn’t sign up to do this all alone.”

This doesn’t mean you’re a bad mom or a bad partner. It means you’re overwhelmed and human.

This is exactly what I help moms with.

I’m a licensed therapist who works with moms who feel burned out, resentful, or like they’ve lost themselves.

In counseling, we work on:

👉Easing the resentment and overwhelm

👉Navigating the mental and emotional load of motherhood

👉Communicating needs and boundaries without guilt

👉Reconnecting with yourself (and your partner)

You don’t have to do this alone.

If you’re nodding along as you read this, I invite you to schedule a free 15‑minute consultation to see how therapy with me can help you feel calmer, more in control, and more like you again.
