“It feels like there’s a high heel digging into my shoulder.”

That’s how she described the pain when she came to me.

One shoulder dropped.
The other still up by her ear.

Look closely.

The shoulder we worked on has released — you can literally see it. It’s dropped down, creating space away from her ear.

The other side? Still holding tension, sitting high and guarded… like it’s not ready to let go yet.

Same body. Same session.
Different result — because we targeted the problem side.

This is what real, intentional bodywork looks like. Not just “relaxing”… but actually changing how your body holds itself.

A lot of people walk around with shoulders that live up by their ears all day — from stress, desk work, or just years of compensation.

She just wanted her headache to go away.

A woman came in recently because she just wanted the headache she had for months to go away.

We did some myofascial releases and her neck and shoulders responded very well.

There were muscles she felt twitching and letting go. One time her chest actually spread open more like the wings of a butterfly the way her shoulders finally went from rounded to flat. that was the first time I personally saw that happen to anyone on my massage table so drastically.

She dedicated 1 hour to massage every Sunday for three weeks.

It was amazing to witness her tranformation because she also had experienced pain when breathing. She said it felt like she couldn’t take any full deep breaths.

Considering her life being more stressful than usual- loosing her mom:( I can understand why there was more stress accumulating in her body than usual.

This woman takes very good care of her body. She has a regular massage therapist in her hometown city and is a competitive athlete.

She listens to her body and decided to keep chipping away at her body pains little by little.

I’m beyond elated to say she has now been headache free for 1 week😆💓.

The best massage results almost never come from the massage alone.

They come from what happens between the massage therapist and the person on the table.

I see it all the time.

Someone gets on the table and their shoulders are tight, their breath is shallow, and their muscles are almost “holding on.” The body is still in protect mode.

Then I’ll remind them to take a slow, deep breath.

And you can literally feel the body start to change.

The shoulders soften.
The muscles stop guarding.
The nervous system shifts into a place where it finally feels safe to let go.

That’s when the work becomes much more effective.

But the people who see the biggest improvements usually do something else too — they participate in their own recovery.

They stretch their hips.
They use a massage ball at home to release tight spots.
They do exercises that help rebalance the muscles.

And they stay consistent with body care — whether that’s massage, chiropractic care, or physical therapy — so their body can reinforce healthier patterns instead of falling back into the same painful ones.

Because when tight shoulders, irritated SI joints, or neck tension have been building for years… the body learns those patterns.

And it takes repetition and reinforcement to teach the body something better.

When the therapist and the client work together, something powerful happens:

The body stops fighting itself.

And people start moving through life with less tension, fewer flare-ups, and a body that finally feels like it’s working with them again instead of against them. 💆‍♀️

💥🪽Winged Shoulder Transformation 🪽💥

Today I had the pleasure of working on an experienced licensed massage therapist.

She’s had trouble with the one winged shoulder dislocating, and reoccurring pinching and aching. The pain also ran up the side of her neck.

As she lied on her tummy, I slid my hands underneath her chest pinpointing tension in her pectoralis major with slight pressure.

I then used my elbow to push down on her rhomboid parallel to her same pectoralis major and voila!

Her shoulder went from winged to flattened. It didn’t hurt— it was soothed!

I squealed like a kid at a candy shop. These are the kind of moments that reward the both of us (client and massage therapist).

Does Anyone Else Deal With This?

I’ve been seeing a lot of clients lately with major hip tightness. What they don’t always know is, it’s the muscles around the hip like, glutes, quads, psoas, hamstrings.

They feel low back pain but it’s really all of the above muscles are too tight.

The best part of my job is feeling their hips release under my guiding hands, and watching my clients feel their hips lie down on the surface beneath them for the first time in months.

These are the kind of moments I witness. When my clients have the aha moment of massage shifting from being a luxury to being a necessity. Life changing realization for sure.

It’s getting the kind of massage that allows you to turn your head for the first time in months.

It’s the kind of massage that makes your muscles twitch when they finally trust and let go with the help of my guiding hands.

It releases so much muscle tension in your back that you can hear your bones clicking and coming back into alignment on their own.
