Play is the work of childhood 💛
Pretend play, like in this picture, is more than just fun — it’s purposeful. Our occupational therapists might use a child’s love for pretend play to naturally target important developmental skills like:
⭐️ Play posture – encouraging positions like tall kneeling to build core strength, balance, and stability
⭐️ Sequencing – following steps (bread → toppings → close → “serve!”) to strengthen planning and organization
⭐️ Motor coordination – reaching, grasping, and manipulating play pieces
⭐️Imaginative & social play skills – expanding creativity and interaction
When therapy is child-led, motivation stays high and learning happens organically. We follow their interests and build skills through meaningful play — because the best progress happens when kids are engaged, empowered, and having fun. ✨
