Seeing the smiles on our residents’ faces as they handed out candy to the little ghosts, goblins, and superheroes truly highlights the importance of involving our memory care residents with the broader community. These moments of connection are precious and provide incredible joy and stimulation. It’s a wonderful reminder that everyone, regardless of cognitive ability, benefits from these meaningful intergenerational interactions!

The Jamaican spirit is often summed up by the Patois saying, “likkle but tallawah” small, yet strong, powerful, and fearless. This profound resilience is exactly what we see in action right now, not only on the island but within the Jamaican community here at home supporting their loved ones.

Join Arden Courts Bingham Farms at NEXT Senior Center in Birmingham for Walk The Path of Dementia presented by Kyra Jackman, CDP, Memory Care Advisor and daughter of a person living with Dementia.

You will leave this seminar with a deeper understanding of what a person living with Dementia is experiencing on their journey as well as tools to better communicate with them.

Arden Courts Bingham Farms is grateful to serve seniors and their families who are walking the path of dementia. We know the value and impact of education as we traverse the ever shifting landscape of our loved one's care.

Please join us this Thursday October 2nd from Noon until 1:00 p.m. for the fourth part of our Empowered Caregiver Series in partnership with the Alzheimer's Association. Lunch will be provided.

Part four will focus on Responding to Dementia Related Behaviors: learning about common behavior changes, how to use non-medical approaches to address these behaviors and how to recognize when additional help is needed.

At the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the Detroit Zoo, a loving husband,David and his daughter, Julie, stopped by our booth to share their enthusiasm and participate in the walk for their cherished family member who calls Arden Courts Bingham Farms home. 💜 It was so heartwarming to see families come together to honor their loved ones and support the Alzheimer’s community.
